CHAPTER FOUR

ALEX'S POV

For one excruciating moment,  silence reigned deep within me left in my thoughts. Winter is fast approaching, so is the blood moon. My pack was all round the place like vultures scavenging it's prey guarding it. Justin and Ethan at my both sides , Allison and Cain by the entrance and Styles at the rooftop ,  to notify us if any vehicle or person approaches. I can't go anywhere without them. My pack except school that is but anywhere that means real business, I go with them . We all have known each other since childhood, having each other's backs supporting each other . Separation seems like an impossible prediction. 

Looking at Stella or Kate or whatever she is being called was not helping at all. I was really getting  pissed off just hearing her voice. Star has not been home for over 24hrs and here she is giving me excuses. I would have broken her nose by punching her so hard in the face,but I can't. She being mum's distant cousin serves as a saving grace. And it won't seem nice as an Alpha beating a member from the same  pack.

Standing in front of Stella and trying so hard to control my temper I asked"You mean she was not back home  from school yesterday and you didn't bother calling anyone ? Did you try tracking her?"

she looked at me and said "I couldn't, I found her phone in the woods. I will find it more difficult protecting her as the blood moon is fast approaching . You need to prepare her before then. Mark her before infinite does. And there is something else. The enemy lies within. "

What does she mean that the enemy lies within ? Not long Ethan said someone is betraying the pack and now this. Seriously, what exactly is happening ?

Justin objected immediately pointing at her with his left index finger"Mind your tongue woman. This is the most respected and feared pack . How dare you suggest an enemy lies within. So you are accusing one of the pack members. Do you know the gravity of what you are saying? Your head needs to be cut off."

"ENOUGH ! ``Roaring with anger, Justin stopped talking and lowered his hand. 

Ethan stood besides us without uttering a word. Probably meditating on what the lady just said. He is the silent and calm one while Justin is the noisy and rough one amongst them both. 

Stella added"You are the Alpha for an Alpha knows his cub. Sense not only the being but the heart and mind. Only then will you see. "

Surprised, I tried asking"What do you mean and how will I ?" Not until I smelled her . She is close ,very close. My wolf is purring. But I could smell another, A very familiar scent. Infinite 

"Boss , A car approaches. " That is Style notifying us .

Alison walked in and suggested"Alex it's infinite. Should we form code 1 formation?" 

Looking through the Window at the ready side of the house , I said"No. He is not here to fight and star is with him, I don't want to endanger her. Get the packs ready , we leave in five."

I turned to face Stella, she was smiling back at me . Raising my eyebrows in a questioning look , I asked"What?"

She stood up and said"She loves you but claims what is yours before it is too late. "

I nodded , signaling the pack with my wolf we left , transforming into the woods. 

STAR'S POV

We have left the house and am on my way with Alex looking alike to only where he knows. I'm no longer in the red dinner gown although I love it, I'm in my school clothes. Looking through the window with my head placed at the window screen, I observed our surroundings. The surroundings looked familiar. Wait, he is taking me home. 

But how did he…... before I could continue he answered " I did a background check on you. That's how I know where you stay."

I'm so confused right now. I just want to go home.

At home, Aunt Kate would be worried sick. 

 Turning to thank him I said "Thank you for the ride , the meal and the clothes but if I may ask. Why did you take me ?"

Instead of answering me. He asked "Do you know Alex?"

Looking at him in a questioning look , he added"Alex Baldwin." 

Why is he asking me that and how does he know Alex? I nodded in response.

He then added "Tell him an old friend dropped by to say hi." 

I nodded. Opening the car door I stepped out and  closed . Moving towards home I remembered I don't know his name. I turned to ask but he drove off. What a shame . Maybe next time . I turned to leave but something in the woods stopped me . I felt someone watching me and when I turned towards the direction I felt it ,I saw it . Emerald green eye laced with orange. Alex ……..I whispered. I couldn't see his face, only his eyes as though he was hiding from someone. We looked straight at each other, lost in our own eyes for a moment . Time seemed to move slowly. My breathing was ragged , mouth dry . Unconsciously my mouth parted, tongue draughted out to lick my bottom lip, then eating it.

"You are mine Star and no one else, only mine" that voice I always hear . Laced with love , desire,  need and lust.

I felt something strange and powerful starring in me which propelled me backwards with so much force, I came in contact with a tree. Placing my right hand on my chest and my left hand on the tree, I let out a shaky breath trying to calm myself. "What the hell was that?" Saying to myself and turning to where my eyes were but he was gone. Only the shaky leaves signaled me that someone was there. 

Looking up to the sky, I prayed silently

to any being present above. "What is happening to me?". 

I let out a shaky breath. Composing myself I moved slowly towards the house. But from a distance I could smell an unfamiliar scent. 

"Someone was here. " I said to myself.
