44 Rescued at last

Adrain raised his phone to his eye level and Sara paused holding him so he would not fall. She wasn’t sure if he was fine to walk by his own strength yet.

If only they’d find signal so his men could get them out of here and hopefully to a hospital. She needed to be sure that he was alright. She would never forgive herself if anything happened to him because of her stupidity.

“Any luck?” she asked, her heart in her mouth.

He shook his head frowning and she sighed letting go of his hand. He staggered a few times on his own and then found his balance again. By now Sara was too carried away with their present situation to notice.

“How many more miles until we can stop?” Sara sighed as she knelt on the ground. They had been walking for quite a while already and she was exhausted.
