Chapter 34

Vivian's POV

Everything felt like a dream to me. My heart raced as I stood there, lost in thought, after hearing Martha and Kian's conversation. And the funniest part was Kian accepted to do it. I couldn't believe it. I felt like I was in a nightmare that I couldn't wake up from.

"It's better off this way," I said with a fake smile on my face, trying to convince myself that everything was okay. But deep down, I knew it wasn't.

I stood up from the bed and dressed up, trying to start a new day with a smile on my face. I walked downstairs and saw my dad sitting in the living room. "Good morning, dad," I said with a smile, trying to hide my true feelings.

"Good morning, dear," he replied, looking up from his newspaper. "Can I have a word with you?" I asked, hesitating for a moment.

"Yes, of course," he replied, putting down his paper and looking at me with concern.

But as I wanted to speak, something in me wanted me to keep it to myself. I didn't want to burden my dad with my problems. "N
