ASHER'S POV

For the first time since the turbulence in the pack, I had something that looked like a sound sleep after the good time I shared with Elysia.

I reached out my hand and felt the bed for her because I wanted to spend the wee hours of the morning all cuddled up in her arms but I was startled when I didn't feel her, it was even more disturbing because her side of the bed was not just empty but cold too, I didn't feel that warmness it would normally bring if someone had been there all night, it felt more like her had never been there, or she didn't even pass the night there.

I sprang up from the bed and looked around the room, a part of me still trying to calm me down and assure me that I was getting worked up for nothing.

"Elysia," I called softly. The voice came as a low whisper at first.

I hurried out of the bed to check in the bathroom if she was there but it was empty. There was even more sign of someone being there that morning.
