Chapter 14: ZOE IN DESPAIR

It was still rainy when Lin Zoe protected herself with her bag and calling a cab. All her dress was wet and she could not pass a phone call for the driver not to say she was still on the rain pattering. 

As the weather was becoming worse, she was cold and coughed. 

"Cough*, Why do I have to go to her house? I'm gonna get sick." 

Laura who has finished with her projects and discussion, came out ready to leave with her umbrella. As she walked peacefully, she noticed a young woman with the curly hair of Lin Zoe and had the same exact dressing. 

She thought it could not be her and was worried that such a woman will be calling a cab in such weather. She stood up and continued looking and became more worried then came closer to the girl and noticed it was Zoe. 

"Zoe!" 

The young woman looked at the person next to her and her eyes widened. 

"Laura?" 

She dropped her phone to the ground and quickly brought her to a shelf. Zoe was cold and barely smiling. All her body was wet and she was trembling as if her warmth was depending on it.

"Oh! My poor Zoe!"

She hugged tightly the young woman who had wet clothes. Laura got a little wet but thought it will be okay at home. She took the coat she was wearing for the rain and handed it to Zoe. As she wore the coat, she felt the warmth she needed and sighed letting a smoke of cold breeze.

"Thank you senior Laura!" she smiled 

Laura took her umbrella and folded it as she sat on a chair. They were staying under a roof belonging to a small café nearby. It was fitting to protect them. However, Laura was worried about her model's state and what could have retained her for long in the rain? 

From her bag, she took out a small thermometer and placed it in Zoe's armpit. 

"Ow! What are you doing?" 

Laura took the thermometer and read her temperature. Zoe understood the reason and worried for her husband. She particularly felt sorry for Laura and hoped she didn't distort any of her programs. 

"Senior, did you take back your phone?" Zoe asked 

The overwhelming Laura smiled and just tried not to laugh at her. "How can I leave my phone? Here is it!" 

Exactly, Laura practiced martial arts but never told anyone. She even took a special lesson for spying and discretion. "Senior, you're amazing!" She cleaned the thermometer on the table where they were together and placed it back in her bag. 

It seemed like they were trapped and could not do anything about their situation. 

"Lin Zoe your temperature is 42 degrees. You will be feverish if you don't go to the hospital and even canceled for the platform." 

"You mean, lose my audience and speech? Uhhh..." 

Lin Zoe's head ached and Laura took out some pain medicine from her bag. She also took out the only bottle of water she has saved for her thirst.

"Oww!" the woman shouted 

Laura held her in her arms and quickly threw the tablet in the bottle. She shook it and waited for it to dissolve. She held the bottle and forced the liquid into Zoe's mouth. Zoe drank it and rested ashore on the table. 

"Don't worry Zoe! Stay quiet and I will look for a cab." 

Laura took her umbrella and waited on the street, anxiously waiting for a cab. The effect of the medicine will only last a few hours and she needed help from a professional the soonest. The tain was severe and harsh. If she did not receive immediate care, the cold and the fever will kill her. 

As cab came, she tried to call her husband. Her phone rang and she waited for an answer. 

"Please Mr. Shen! Your wife's life is in your hands." The phone rang until a car suddenly appeared. The car stopped right to her and intrigued her curiosity. 

"Hello, Who are you?" she asked cautious

It was the driver of Lin Zoe and she quickly recognized him. "Mr. Shu!" She was relieved someone could come and help Zoe. Now it was time for her to send the sick Zoe at the hospital.

No time had to be wasted.

"Please mister, your master's wife is very feverish you must take her to the hospital quickly."He did not wait for any word from her and just said, "Come with her to the car quickly."

Laura carried the sick woman, protecting her with her umbrella. She lied in the car and the driver switched the heater. Laura too was feeling a little cold and the heater helped her get her shirt a bit warm. 

The driver looked cold and didn't expect any request from Laura. 

"We are going to take the Master. He is the one who knows how to care for her illnesses." He explained to Laura as she was caring for Zoe 

"Oh! I see." 

Shen Zi had always been the one treating her and the driver could not send her to the hospital without him seeing her except in urgencies. Now it all depended on that mysterious figure with withstanding power. 

"Do not worry, he is close to here." 

They stopped at the coffee shop where Shen was waiting on the terrasse. He was waiting for the driver and came close to see him.

"Did you brought Zoe?" he asked with neutral eyes 

Laura gazed at the man who was standing and noticed his handsome appearance.

"This man is so handsome. I never expected Zoe to marry a man not only rich but so attractive." 

The driver frowned and Shen sat in the car waiting for a response. 

"What is it?" 

"Master, Lin Zoe is gravely ill." 

At hearing this, he received a heavy shock and tried to see if she was behind. He touched her forehead and reacted insanely.

"What are you waiting for? Bring her to the hospital!"
