Disconcerted about what just happened! Elin looked around carefully. Her eyes wide open. It’s like she just saw something really unbelievable.
Moving round and round to stare everywhere inside her own room, she swallowed and let out a deep breath silently to calm herself.
Maybe I felt unfair and reluctant to completely forget my first life that I was given another chance.
Her hands tugged near her chest when she suddenly stopped moving round and closed her eyes to have a clear thought. She once again sharpened her memory… what she did in her first life and what in her second and the last thing she remembered in her second life.
Nothing really makes sense except one thing – if a world with magic and spirits exist then maybe this was all natural, too.
Now she was back… back to the world were there was no unique power and every humans were equal but hold on a second! Elin ran amok toward the full bodied mirror kept away from her bed to check whether the things which was going inside her mind was real or not.
Her hands in a rush going through her cheeks and hair. Body a little leaned toward the mirror and her right hand even touching the mirror to check whether the mirror was not a hallucination in her dream.
How to check that whether it was a dream or not? It looked so real that she got confused about lucid dreams and reality.
“Long black straight hair and eyes like the deep blue ocean filled with shiny stars… is this really me of the past?” Elin gulped and touched both her face and the mirror.
Then should she consider it as her third life then does that mean that she have died in her second life?
So confusing!
She bit her lips to cause pain for herself, “Ahh.. ack! It hurts. Sure, it doesn’t feel like a dream".
What was relieving was that her beautiful face was back, no it meant that she was back before marrying Shan. She laughed but at the same time tears came out, too, thinking about how she foolishly didn’t even met her father on his death bed and only fawned over Shan.
Same room which was decorated by her father for her, every thing was same when she was about.. 17 or 18 years old. She took a few steps back and sat on her bed.
Her beautiful room looked more beautiful after seeing it so many years later. A single person comfortable bed neatly in light pink bed sheet, a full-bodied mirror with shelf and opposite to the bed was the door whereas beside it there was a window where her study table was fixed. Room with bathroom attached, everything was as she remembered but her legs trembled when she thought of stepping out.
She gulped nervously and turned back to look at her study table where a calendar was kept.
“13 Jully 20XX.. it means two days later I will turn 18”. She kept herself concentrated on the things that happened in the past because since she have came back to her past, she must change everything which lead to her and her father’s death.
Let’s think about what will happen next, ok! She slightly nodded to herself but her attention got yanked when someone knocked on her door.
“Who?” She asked and looked a bit distressed and nervous.
Her Nanny or her father? Who might it be?
Her hands slowly reached the door knob. It was a bit shaky since she was hesitating and scared of seeing the people she once lost with time.
“Its me!” from the other side of the door, she heard that voice which startled her.
Her affectionate and longing gaze faded away as she swallowed and frowned.
“Elin! It’s me.. Cory".
That voice and name made her clutch her fingers tightly, her head down and eyes staring the ground with intense killing vibe within it.
“I am coming inside,” Cory said that and opened the door from outside to get in but as her eyes met Elin, she stopped and stared her while being a statue, “You are standing here yet you never said a word and what with that intense look?” she mocked Elin while laughing with her hand on her mouth.
Not caring the serious expression of Elin, she laughed and then patted her shoulder before stepping forward and sitting in her room.
“Hmm.. your room is the best, cousin. How about you give it to me for a few days, I will stare it all the time with my open eyes and carve its picture inside my mind before giving you back your room,” Cory hands slipped on her study table to its shelf, checking its every shelf to get something important and pretty.
“Gosh! It’s beautiful,” she took out a bracelet Elin kept in her safe.
It was glistening and shiny light pink in color with a heart embedded in it.
Elin slowly let her fist lose its clutch and turned back. The first thing she did was to take the bracelet away from her hand and put it back in its respective box, “Go out Cory, I need to change”.
Her tensed shoulder and cold expression doesn’t befitted Cory, she find it weird to withhold.
How can the Elin, who have always been fond of her suddenly be cold toward her.
With those words, her cheerful face soon turned into a frown and she stood up with her hands folded, “OK, I am going. What are you being so cold for? Huh!”.
It was easier to make her leave but the thought that she has to face her again was quite bothersome.
Cory, her distant relative cousin and the person, who had a big hand in destroying her. She always fawned about how Shan liked her but couldn’t express himself and behind her back, she kept bad mouthing about her to Shan.
She was like a backstabber, who did everything Elin asked but in a way which would only harm her.
Both her and her family was the one, who took half of her property after her father’s death.
Her fist clenched as she swallowed, her heart burning with rage when her mind reminisced the hurtful memories. She did everything Cory asked since Cory always helped her in pursuing Shan and that was what she thought until she got married and accidentally found out that Cory never really helped her, she always bad mouthed about her in front of Shan. Their childhood memories and how they laughed while running near the sea shore, everything become painful the opposite of how it used to be for her. The more she cherished a moment together with someone, the more she felt painful when that someone betrayed her. I wonder why I could never move on even though I got another life to live? Was it because of regret? Hmm… Elin took a deep breath and calmed herself. Just by seeing Cory, she was so emotionally drained then what will happen if she sees Shan? He
She tilted her head as a gesture to get reply from Mr. Faven, her father. But he was, too, shocked to say anything, his eyes slowly turned toward Cory, whose jaws were dropped in shock. “How can you do that, Elin?” she questioned her ignoring Mr. Faven questionable stare toward her. “Why? What’s wrong with this?” Elin shrugged her shoulder and raised her eyebrows. Impersonator? For a second Cory wondered whether someone else was in front if her and not Elin. The mean Elin, who only cared about getting what she wants was thinking about orphanage children, what was she up, too? Then at the second thought, she might be thinking about calling those children to impress Shan. Cory snickered and smirked, her hand covering her evil and vile smirk. She knew that Shan hated fake people the most and couldn’t bear them and if he know
Yeah, she finally remembered and gasped. Student Noel was someone who had a big impression on her even though he never once had a single conversation with her. She remembered that the classroom teacher asked him to be her desk mate and at that time she was sitting on the first bench. She refused to share her seat since she stubbornly claimed that her desk mate can only be Shan and no one else and later he walked back and sat beside Shan since it was the last vacant seat left in the classroom. They never had a conversation but she saw him often since he and Shan friendship grew within a week and the last she remembered was him dying in a car accident after taking classes for a week in the school. So, it left quite a big impression on her since he had become very popular in the school. And what more, her engagement with White’s also got canceled from there side although she never knew the real rea
The door knob fallen into pieces in front of their shoes made them gulp and look at each other while being perplexed. “Was it her?” Bardie asked from other girls and they shrugged their shoulder in return. “Lets get going before anyone see us here near the broken knob,” Bardie said and they stepped out but the fat toilet keeper was glaring at them while standing straight and keeping her hands near her hip. She was taller then them and looked scary enough to make them sweat hardly. Bardie glanced at the left while looking a little down and she saw Elin winking at her while walking away. Her blood boiled and she become enraged, “That scheming b*tch!” she shouted and got another glare from the fat toiled keeper. “How dare you call me scheming after breaking the knob. He felt frustrated keeping his hand outstretched to shake with Shiwei but all he got was a glare from him rather then a friendly gesture. Taking his hand back and brushing his hair with that hand, he smiled to control the awkwardness, “Hmm.. its been over 24 years since I have been here but I don’t see my brother anywhere neither his wife". His eyes wondering behind Wang Shiwei and he ignored him to step away. For some reason he looked quite desperate to meet his brother or maybe Aili! His eyes met Jully’s, who was like a ferocious beast glaring at him. This time she didn’t said anything and kept calm since Caixia was beside her, “How are you? Are you doing fine? What did the doctor said?”. Jully within one breath said all that. Caixia smiled and her eyes stopped at her wounds, “Lets get you treated first and we will think about other
