She tilted her head as a gesture to get reply from Mr. Faven, her father. But he was, too, shocked to say anything, his eyes slowly turned toward Cory, whose jaws were dropped in shock.
“How can you do that, Elin?” she questioned her ignoring Mr. Faven questionable stare toward her.
“Why? What’s wrong with this?” Elin shrugged her shoulder and raised her eyebrows.
Impersonator?
For a second Cory wondered whether someone else was in front if her and not Elin. The mean Elin, who only cared about getting what she wants was thinking about orphanage children, what was she up, too?
Then at the second thought, she might be thinking about calling those children to impress Shan.
Cory snickered and smirked, her hand covering her evil and vile smirk. She knew that Shan hated fake people the most and couldn’t bear them and if he knows that she have used those innocent children to impress him and get what she wants then he will definitely hate her more.
“Ohh. I got it! You want to impress him by showing him your kind side.. you definitely have some nice ideas,” Cory nodded and indulged back in her amusing thoughts.
Elin left eyebrows drew up and she shook her head refusing her nuisance words, “No, I am not calling him on my birthday party".
Cory blinked and wondered whether the things she have heard was really true or not. How can the person, who was desperate to call Shan everywhere was saying such thing.
“I didn’t heard it right. Can you say that again?” Cory brought her ear closer turning her face left.
Few finger taps on the dining table gave her ear near the table a really painful sensation and she jolted back, “What are you doing, Elin?” she frowned, her fingers rubbing her ear.
“Your ears have problem, get it checked. I am telling it once again, I am not going to invite him,” she averted her threatening eyes from Cory and shifted it to her father.
Gasp!
Her threatening eyes changed in a second once she looked at her father affectionately and smiled. Her cheeks glowed and looking at his cute daughter Mr. Faven heart melted and he smiled, too.
Cory become overly jealous of their family smile. How can they be happy when she wanted to give them the worst life! No- a worst death it is.
Cory from her childhood dreamed a life similar to Elin but her family was not so rich so she couldn’t have it but when she saw that there was a chance that she can get what belonged to Elin, she started to try harder.
It has to be a dream, no- these things has to end. Her teeth gritted and hands clenched on the spoon tightly.
“Cory, get your hands off the spoon or it will break,” Elin pointed at her hand and it yanked both Mr. Faven and Cory's attention.
Cory felt it awkward and embarrassing that she got caught in the act when she shouldn’t had, “I felt so happy that I almost remembered when I used to have breakfast with my parents. Haha.. I become a little emotional".
“Oo.. its been months when you started eating your breakfast here because of my request. I was so selfish but Cory, now you don’t have to bear with it anymore. Please enjoy your time with your parents, too".
Indirect words meaning that Cory doesn’t had to come at her place to have breakfast anymore.
Gasp!
Cory felt shocked. She doesn’t wanna have breakfast with her parents, it was just some nuisance that came out of nowhere but what now?
She looked at Mr. Castillo warm smile and nod and it become hard for her to say or refuse it, so she let the spoon slide back to the desk, “Yeah, I will.. do that”.
So furious.. her heart boiling and the fake smile fading but she must keep it up or else her real face will show up. Her words seemed to have stuck in her mouth because all she wanted was to scream at them and she got up.
The fake smile hiding her gritted teeth desperately and eyebrows twitching as she started, “I need to do something, so Elin I will come later. You don’t have to wait for me".
Elin simply nodded and smiled seeing Cory leaving in a robotic way. Finally she let out a sigh and leaned on her table. It was easy to get rid of Cory and stop her from coming her home but still she knew that Cory was not so easy to get rid of.
Her eyes turned toward her father, “Father, do me a favor. I don’t want to be friends with her, so don’t ask me to be nice with her".
Mr. Faven looked at her with his surprised eyes and pressed his lips. He was stunned by her words that did made sense but in a weird way.
How can his daughter suddenly become so smart? That was the question, he was deeply thinking about but as usual Mr. Faven didn’t questioned her for anything until she doesn’t plan to propose a guy on her birthday party as Cory informed him of.
He gave his nod and Elin got up with a bread in her mouth and school bag in her hand, “Bye-bye, papa! I am leaving to school”.
With a giggle she left the house and stood next to the white wagon car where the chauffeur was waiting for her. He glanced beside her and Cory was no where to be seen.
“Oh, Cory will not be going with me from today onwards". She got inside it and relaxed. Everything was what it used to be but the difference was that she didn’t cared about these thing earlier and now she did.
Finally at school, she got out in rush because she was about to be late. The excitement and anxiety was making her heart throb louder, she can’t bear to breath calmly.
The first thing she stared was the school vast double door in which only one door was open. Painted all blue and written the Elite school name in capital, it looked perfect and similar to what she remembered.
Go for it, Elin!
With a bright smile she ran inside without seeing that she was about to run into someone, whom she shouldn’t had.
Yeah, she finally remembered and gasped. Student Noel was someone who had a big impression on her even though he never once had a single conversation with her. She remembered that the classroom teacher asked him to be her desk mate and at that time she was sitting on the first bench. She refused to share her seat since she stubbornly claimed that her desk mate can only be Shan and no one else and later he walked back and sat beside Shan since it was the last vacant seat left in the classroom. They never had a conversation but she saw him often since he and Shan friendship grew within a week and the last she remembered was him dying in a car accident after taking classes for a week in the school. So, it left quite a big impression on her since he had become very popular in the school. And what more, her engagement with White’s also got canceled from there side although she never knew the real rea
The door knob fallen into pieces in front of their shoes made them gulp and look at each other while being perplexed. “Was it her?” Bardie asked from other girls and they shrugged their shoulder in return. “Lets get going before anyone see us here near the broken knob,” Bardie said and they stepped out but the fat toilet keeper was glaring at them while standing straight and keeping her hands near her hip. She was taller then them and looked scary enough to make them sweat hardly. Bardie glanced at the left while looking a little down and she saw Elin winking at her while walking away. Her blood boiled and she become enraged, “That scheming b*tch!” she shouted and got another glare from the fat toiled keeper. “How dare you call me scheming after breaking the knob. Let me teach you all a lesson inside the wash r
He felt frustrated keeping his hand outstretched to shake with Shiwei but all he got was a glare from him rather then a friendly gesture. Taking his hand back and brushing his hair with that hand, he smiled to control the awkwardness, “Hmm.. its been over 24 years since I have been here but I don’t see my brother anywhere neither his wife". His eyes wondering behind Wang Shiwei and he ignored him to step away. For some reason he looked quite desperate to meet his brother or maybe Aili! His eyes met Jully’s, who was like a ferocious beast glaring at him. This time she didn’t said anything and kept calm since Caixia was beside her, “How are you? Are you doing fine? What did the doctor said?”. Jully within one breath said all that. Caixia smiled and her eyes stopped at her wounds, “Lets get you treated first and we will think about other
First life: Elin Faven, famous for being an odious and a willful girl. Her stubbornness to chase after the guy she liked ruined her reputation in the whole city. Disconcerted about what just happened! Elin looked around carefully. Her eyes wide open. It’s like she just saw something really unbelievable. Moving round and round to stare everywhere inside her own room, she swallowed and let out a deep breath silently to calm herself. Maybe I felt unfair and reluctant to completely forget my first life that I was given another chance. Her hands tugged near her chest when she suddenly stopped moving round and closed her eyes to have a clear thought. She once again sharpened her memory… what she did in her first life and what in her second and the last thing she remembered in her second life. Nothing really makes sense except one thing – if a world with magic and spirits exist then maybe this was all natural, too. Now she was back… back to the world were there was no unique power and every humans were equal but
Her fist clenched as she swallowed, her heart burning with rage when her mind reminisced the hurtful memories.
