Katherine Flynn

It hurts.

It's really hurts.

Katherine Flynn limped while walking to her home. When she entered into her house, no one was there to welcome her.

Katherine went to her room, as she threw her bag away. She looked herself in the bathroom mirror. There is a small cut on her lip which was bleeding. Katherine removed her shirt, there was a red mark near her stomach due to the punch which she got earlier.

It's all started two years ago.

Flashback,

When Katherine went to the mall to buy a birthday present for her friend Devin Miles, she saw few boys from her class tried to steal a purse from a girl without knowing her.

Katherine took a picture of it and stopped them. She threatened them to show the picture to the teacher if they try to steal the purse from her.

That girl realized what was happening around her. She thanked Katherine before she left.

Two days later, Katherine was surrounded by those guys in school. "Do you think that you can escape from us?" Jarel Hall asked Katherine.

"What are you guys doing? Leave me, I have to go" Katherine tried to leave.

When she tried to leave, Grace Winter punched her stomach. Katherine fell on the ground clutching her stomach. The pain almost killed her.

"Didn't you heard what Jarel said? You can't escape from us, Katherine" Grace gave another punch on her face. Grace Winter always jealous of Katherine. Because Katherine was the prettiest girl in the school, her family was rich and she always comes first in class.

Grace Winter used this chance to bully Katherine along with Jarel Hall.

"You shouldn't have put your nose in other people business. See where your goodness took you. To us" Grace Winter said as she continued to kick Katherine along with her three other minions.

Katherine was almost fainted from the kicking and beating, when she heard Grace Winter, "If you think of reporting us think about your friend Devin Miles. Because of you he might become our next target"

Katherine know about Devin Miles health conditions, he has an asthma. He can't take these kind of beatings. He might die. He was her best buddy since diapers. How can Katherine sacrifice him? Katherine decided she has to endure their beatings. It's not like that they will kill her.

They won't, right?

But Katherine was wrong. They started to beat her whenever they get upset or angry. Katherine have become a punching bag for them. Devin Miles started to notice her bruises, but Katherine managed to make up a lie that she was fell down. But it didn't convince him.

Who will fell down on the daily basis? That was his question.

If you ask why Katherine parents didn't notice her bruises, it’s because she was living alone. Katherine parents are living well in America taking care of their family business. So many times Katherine asked them to live with her. The answer which they gave her was, "We are working hard for you to give a better future"

Future? Who wants to live in the unknown future when her present is hell?

One day Devin Miles found out about the bullying, he was furious. He tried to inform the teachers. On the way to teacher’s office he was knocked by Jarel Hall and almost died. When Katherine heard about that she straightly went to Jarel Hall and gave him a punch.

"I told you not to touch Devin Miles" When Katherine was about to give another punch, Grace Winter blocked her.

Jarel Hall lifted her chin, "I like your guts, but I really hate it"

Then they started to kick Katherine. "Don't think you can escape from me" Jarel Hall said before the last punch.

Katherine was lying alone on the ground. Looking at the sky. It's so beautiful, Peace. Katherine want her life to become like a sky.

"I am sorry. It's because of me" Katherine heard Devin Miles sniffling next to her. Katherine made him to lay next to her, "It's not because of you. So, stop thinking"

"But Katherine how long will you take this?" He asked her. "Don't worry. We will graduate in few months. After that we won't meet them"

That's what Katherine thought. Once again, Katherine was proven wrong. After registering in the college Devin Miles went home to attend the family gathering.

Katherine was just looking around the campus, she just bumped into someone. "Sorry, I didn't lo-"Katherine shocked to see the person in front of her, the words stuck in her throat.

"Look who we have here" Grace Winter shouted. Katherine looked the way she was looking. There he was coming with a smile on his face. Katherine tried to leave but was blocked by Jarel Hall.

"Where do you think you are leaving? We are meeting after so long. At least you should greet me"

"Enough of your nonsense. We are not in school anymore, I cannot tolerate your stupidity. If you continue this I'll just report you for bullying and make you guys never attend the college" Katherine shouted at him.

"Stop shouting" Grace Winter dragged her to the corner and punched Katherine. "Without seeing us for few days, it seems you have gotten brave. I think I should make you remember that you are our punching bag" With that punching and kicking started.

"Grace Winter, enough. I don't want to ruin my college life because of this Trash" Jarel Hall said to Grace Winter.

Trash? Are you talking about yourselves?

"Consider yourself as lucky. Or else I would have killed you" Grace Winter gave a kick on her stomach.

"Don't ever appear in front of me. If you do, It will be your last day" Jarel Hall gave her a warning before he left the place with Grace Winter.

Back to the present,

Katherine thought after the graduation from high school her life will become better, but she was wrong once again. She will never able to escape from this hell. She wants to end everything.

Katherine punched the mirror with the strength she has. It was cracked all over the place.

Katherine took a piece of glass and slit her wrist. The blood dripped from her wrist and reached the floor. Katherine was happy thinking that she was going to have an eternal sleep which she was longing for. Katherine eyelid become heavy and everything went blank.
