CHAPTER 5

The blue sky filled with clouds made the calling birds sing in their glory. The disturbing sounds of clashing woods made them stop and wonder what was happening. There it was, the army of the Silver Moon pack, raiding the woods for something and slashing down the trees.

It had been two months since I became a member of the Silver Moon Pack. Ashley had trained me to become a much better werewolf with sword-fighting skills. I couldn’t wolf out or shift due to my weak system, but he assured me I would in no time. He made me undergo vigorous training that almost made me crash down dead. During training, he didn’t show me even the slightest pity; he believed that would make me weak.

We had become the newest lovers in town, and every single lady in town was jealous of me. Some called me a snatcher. I don’t know how that came about, but that’s how we ladies behave sometimes. We were fond of each other and were always finding ourselves in each other's arms. I've never felt happier in my entire life.

“Strike harder," Ashley commanded, patting me on the shoulder.

“How do you expect me to use a wooden sword to slash down a tree? That’s far from possible..." he cut me off, taking the sword away from my hand and moving me backwards. “But it's not impossible," he said, taking his stance, taking the sword with his two hands, and striking it with speed and full force.

“Nothing happened, you see," I said hastily, wanting to rub it in his face.

“Don’t be too quick to judge, darling," he let out as the tree came crashing to the ground. I could only glare at the tree with amazement on my tongue. Ashley had a smirk on his face; he enjoyed making me wrong at all times. It seemed like his duty to begin with.

“Cut down the trees; clear the tracks. We have to make sure Amanda is dead.”, we caught onto the voices of the Silver Moon Packs soldiers, who were progressing much faster than I expected. Anger built up in Ashley as he suddenly went towards them, holding the wooden sword in his hand. I followed suit, ignoring the fact that they were looking for me.

“Stop cutting down the trees in the forest and return back to your Alpha immediately," Ashley commanded, not letting them progress any further.

“What will you do? We are the soldiers of the Silver Moon Pack. We’re unbeatable in this district," one of the men blabbed. He didn’t seem like the leader of the squad, but he seemed really powerful.

“I don’t want to be responsible for your deaths, but if you don’t move out, I’ll have no choice but to eliminate every single one of you," Ashley threatened, raising the wooden sword towards them.

“Do you think you can stop us with that wooden sword? You’re much more pathetic than a weakling," the man spat out, bringing his blade out of its case.

“Stop it. I don’t want anyone to get harmed, for now that is.” I interrupted, bringing their attention towards me. They all looked at each other with surprise in their eyes.

“It seems we hit the jackpot, guys. Lady Barbra was right about her existence; this is our chance to become rich and change our status. Capture her alive boys," a man said, approaching from behind with a cigarette in his mouth. From the looks of it, he was the commander of the squad under which the operation ran.

“Ohhhhhhh, my chest!" one of the men screamed as he coughed out blood. The others all watched him as he gasped for air before finally giving up the ghost.

“You didn’t move from where you are; how did he get hit?” the leader of the squad asked, staring at Ashley's, whose rage had surpassed the usual. Ashley didn’t care about who died as long as he could keep his loved ones safe. His ideal way of peace keeping.

“Let me go!" I screamed as someone suddenly grabbed me from behind, pulling a knife to my neck.

“We have the lady; let's return home," a male voice spoke behind me. I struggled to get him out of his grip, but it wasn’t of any use.

“Let her go, Jimmy," Ashley commanded with a threatening voice. His brown eyes were suddenly turning red, and his silver-like hair was going all black. He was going to wolf out anytime soon, and that was going to be unpleasant to watch.

“Don’t wolf out, Ashley!" I yelled, hitting Jimmy's stomach hard with my elbow before stabbing his legs with his sword. “You piece of sh*t," he quickly grabbed me by the wrist, hitting my head against a tree.

"Amanda," Ashley called out to me as I slowly fell to the ground. Everywhere was suddenly becoming silent, but I could still see.

Ashley had lost control of himself and wolfed out. Silver hair had enveloped his body, and his perception had changed. He could smell fear and danger miles away and was subconsciously in this state. “That’s the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack; run for your dear life," Jimmy managed to spit out before Ashley clawed off his head. They all ran, but Ashley was faster. I could hear their wails and groans as they all fell before I blacked out completely.

Upon regaining consciousness, I found myself glaring at the white painting above me. A woman in a white uniform was right beside me, checking my pulse rate and the oxygen passing through my nose. “How is she doing, doctor?” Ashley's voice came into play as he walked into the room. The woman gazed at me for some time before smiling.

“Well, she survived the hit miraculously, even though she lost lots of blood. From my analysis, she’ll be pretty much fine," the doctor explained. “Thank goodness you are okay; I don’t know what I would do without you," Ashley let out, holding my hand.

“Also, congratulations to you both. Mrs. Amanda is three months pregnant.”.
