CHAPTER 2

I couldn’t believe my ears; I was no longer a member of the Silver Moon Pack. This seemed so unrealistic; I couldn’t believe he would go this far just to please my worst enemy. Maybe they had both planned it out, and I was just their key to the biggest farmland and the oldest bungalow in the entire pack. A mere teacher who didn’t worth anything but her resources. A blunt Omega.

“Guards take her out of town and throw her into the woods. She is forever banished from this pack and can never return. If she ever comes back, eliminate her immediately,” Christopher added, taking Barbra by the waist and bringing her close to him. She had a splendid look on her face as the guards took hold of me and were about to drag me out of town. “You know what? I will leave, but remember, there’s always a price to pay. Believe me, Christopher, I can survive with or without you.” I blurted it out before running out of the ceremony in tears.

“She should have kept her mouth shut. That’s the price of being weak and useless, an omega with nothing of value more like a mere human, no wonder she’s just a teacher” people uttered as I ran out of town. What a life I’ve had! I wished I was strong enough to take my rightful heritage, but I didn’t have the slightest power to do anything. Maybe they were right; I was truly weak and useless, always relying on Christopher, who ended up betraying me. I shouldn’t have been born. Christopher believed I wouldn’t leave that easily, so he asked his guards to chase me out. They didn’t have even the slightest remorse in their eyes as they followed suit. I was heading towards the woods to avoid being caught and beaten, but they were far ahead of me.

They had set up a threaded trap, which caught me by the legs and tipped me over. I could barely breathe as I rolled down the sloppy forest land, hitting my body on various trees and getting bruised up by various sharp twigs that had been broken. I finally hit a mahogany tree, which halted my movement. I felt pain everywhere and could barely stand up. I couldn’t move a muscle; I was paralyzed by the effect of the bruises.

My eyes were beginning to betray me as they began closing up. My harsh breathing was already in the lane, and my body was shutting down. I couldn’t see any more as my eyes closed shut, the wind blew, and I fell into a deep slumber.

“Are you alright?” I could hear a masculine voice say as I slowly became conscious. The sight of a young man came into view, along with green leaves and a gray sky in the background. I shuddered, moving away from him. He didn’t move closer like other males; instead, he watched as I moved back.

“It’s alright, you’re in great hands,” he said, heading to a bench beside the mahogany tree.

“Who are you?” I questioned, hoping he wasn’t from the Silver Moon Pack.

“Don’t get too cocky, girl; you should be thankful I saved you with my last antidote,” he replied, not giving me an answer to what I wanted.

“Last antidote? What do you mean by that?” I asked, standing up and moving closer to him.

“To think you could survive the poisonous venom of the rarest snake in the woods for an hour, you seem to be really special. What are you looking for in the woods anyway?” His words filled me with confidence and anxiety, just like Christopher.

“What do you care about? Just because you saved me doesn’t mean you get me. I’m not a slave,” I responded, letting my heart do the talking.

“I see you’re also having a hard time yourself. Wanna talk about it?” he patted the space on the bench beside him, still not looking at me. He really was carefree and quite interesting.

I sat beside him on the bench, staring at the gray sky, which soon lit up as the moon showed up. He didn’t say a single thing; rather, he gulped down a bottle of cocktail and handed me a little to sip.

“It’s been really hard on me ever since my parents left with my twin brother. I can barely comprehend the situation at hand. No one really cares about me; they just treat me a little better because of my title. I think about my usefulness each passing day, and I just can’t comprehend what I need to be a better person. ” He started off not caring if I was listening. He kept on pouring out his heart to me, and I could see the pains most men faced with each passing day. The struggles he made for his family and people were more like sacrifices, and to them, it still wasn’t enough. He was just like me, but not weak.

“So what’s your story?” he asked after he was done pouring his heart out. I didn’t feel the need to pour my heart out, but I just couldn’t say no to someone who had passed through more pain than me

“I’m a weakling no one cares about. Useless, pathetic, anything pertaining to weakness—that’s me. I was born that way, and I see the deal in it every single day. Due to my weakness I could only work as a teacher in the lowest schools and surprisingly it’s summer holiday so it was probably the best time. ” I narrated my story to him, and surprisingly, he was glaring at me with his cute brown eyes throughout.

“You deserve someone special, not someone like him,” he said after I ended my story.

“I wish for death; I just want to die. I just want to…” I paused as he took me by the hand.

“It’s okay, everything will be fine,” he reassured. With a leap, I was head-on with him, my lips on his, taking away his sorrows. I didn’t know why I did that, but it felt good. I withdraw myself from him. “I’m sorry…” He brought me closer, shutting me up with a kiss. I opened up to his touch as the kiss intensified. His hands kept roaming around my body, and my hands explored his hair and back.

“LOVE ME”.
