Sixty Seven

Cameron squinted his eyes with a frown, and he wondered if this was about his relationship with Ruby, his children’s nanny, and himself, but he hoped that she wasn’t going to say something that would anger him. She might be his mother, but he wasn’t going to let her say anything bad about her, or about his relationship with her. He wasn’t looking for anyone’s approval to be with him, and no matter what she said, he was going to stay with her.

He refused to say anything and waited for what she would say next.

“I heard you have someone you're dating now, someone that helped convince your investors about a deal.” She said.

“Yes, mother.” He said, not offering any more explanation to that effect. There was nothing to say just yet, he needed to know everything she knew and what she was thinking before he could say anything.
