Chapter 12

Sylvia sneered and nodded as she pointed at Jeanette and said, “Okay, since you don’t want to sign it, you’re going to get a fertility check-up right now! This is the least you could do for me, right?”

Jeanette bit her lip. She decided to compromise for the time being because Sylvia would just keep picking on her until she could prove that she was perfectly healthy. Jeanette ended up entering the examination room.

Only then did Madison approach Sylvia. She appeared polite and docile as she said, “Ma’am, if my sister refuses to get a divorce, so be it. I’m fine, as long as I can have a smooth delivery. I’m content.”

Her words were like music to Sylvia’s ears. She had always liked an obedient daughter-in-law like that, so she patted the back of Madison’s hand and said softly, “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely make them get a divorce. How can the daughter of a mistress be worthy of being the mother of my grandson?”

Madison said politely, “I’ll do as you say, but you shouldn’t push yourself too hard. It’s okay, even if it means I have to suffer a little...”

Sylvia said, “How can I let the reputation of my grandson’s mother be tainted? Don’t think too much. They must get divorced!”

Madison nodded emotionally, but it was only on the outside. She despised Sylvia in her heart because, after everything she had said earlier, it turned out that she only did all that for her grandson’s reputation, which was absolutely selfish.

Jeanette waited in the examination room for a while until a nurse came in. However, it turned out to be a man. She was taken aback, and shortly after that, the doctor came in with another nurse. They were all men as well. What did this mean?

As the male doctor was about to put on his gloves, he pointed to the operating table next to him. Jeanette’s face turned completely cold as she came to a realization.

This was not a check-up at all—it was obviously a humiliation! If word about what happened here got out, how terrible would it be for her reputation?

Moreover, Damon already hated her, so she was afraid that he would be even more disgusted by her.

“Sorry, I won’t do this check-up.” Jeanette refused to do it and tried to walk past them to leave.

Unexpectedly, a male nurse stood in front of her, and his face looked like he had ill intentions. “I’m sorry, once you’ve the examination room, you must do this check-up!”

“Why haven’t I heard about such a policy in the hospital?” Jeanette glared at him and had her guard up. “Get out of the way, or I’m calling the police!”

The man broke into a smile and immediately made a move. He grabbed Jeanette and dragged her to the operating bed.

“What are you doing?! Let me go!” Jeanette struggled. “Help! Somebody— Mmm!”

Another man rushed over and covered Jeanette’s mouth so that she could not call for help. Jeanette fluttered her hands and feet around desperately. When she was struggling, she knocked over the surgical rack at the side, and the metal surgical equipment that was on it fell on the floor.

It created some noise, and Jeanette suddenly had an idea. She purposely grabbed and pushed the things next to the operating bed. She made those things fall on the floor so that the noises would replace her call for help.

“Hold her arms!” someone ordered.

The two men worked together and quickly pinned Jeanette’s hands and feet. Another man grabbed a handful of gauze and stuffed it into Jeanette’s mouth roughly to silence her completely.

Jeanette was a woman who hardly had any ability to defend herself, so she was silenced. Her hands and feet were also pinned down. She was like a fish on a chopping board, and she could only watch as the knife fell. Her legs were closed, but they were spread open by someone.

Soon... No. Who could save her...

‘Damon, would you come save me? Damon…’
