Chapter 53

Emelda's POV

The sun's rays filtered through the curtains, bathing the room in a golden glow as my eyelids fluttered open.

Yawning, I stretched lazily, and found out that the spot in which Bryan had laid last night was now empty.

“Bryan?" I whispered, my voice barely audible as I searched the room, my eyes scanning the space for any sign of him.

“Where could he have gone this early? It's just a few minutes to seven.” I asked in my head, my thoughts racing with questions and concerns as I sat up in bed.

I yawned again, tossed over the sheet covering my body and dropped my feet to the floor.

It was still a work day and not my honeymoon, I wouldn't want to be late for work.

As I dropped my feet to the floor, the coolness of the marble beneath my toes sent a chill through my skin as its coldness was a stark contrast to the warmth of the bed I had laid in.
