Chapter 1.Blaze

The flash photographs blinded me with their lights but I didn't care. I worked my ass for ten years to achieve this overnight success. Waving to the crowd, the girls fainted, some screamed their love for me while others threw flowers at me. "Mr Nightingale, tell us. How do you feel winning the championship for the second time in a row?" A blonde-haired reporter asked. She pushed up her boobs until her exposed cleavage spilled more than necessary. I winked at her and she turned red."I feel awesome and I'm going for the next championship, making jt three in a row," I answered, intentionally trying to sound corny. A guy like me loved the attention, from the media, from fellow players and especially the ladies. The reporter rallied more questions to me which I answered with pride. Flaunting my success to whoever cared to listen. I did it. I got here. Despite the bullies who made me feel like crap or my father who deserted me and even my mother's lack of support.I whirled to enter my w

Good story, but I don’t think he worked enough to redeem himself. Also, best hot scenes were not with Caramel which is a bit sad. And I would have loved to see his POV for those moments.

This book has potential. However, it needs to be edited. It has a lot of inconsistencies and the author wrote about topics that she was not familiar with, so many scenes were incomplete and not believable. There were also sentences that had first person and third person intermingled.

Chapter 2. Caramel

"You've got it, Caramel. I got you the deal," someone said from behind. I adjusted on my seat and twisted to see my agent, Paul. My lips twitched upward. It can't be what I'm thinking."Don't play with me," I answered, unable to contain my excitement. My wavering voice gave it all away."They accepted you." He slumped into a seat beside me."What? Stop it." I playfully slapped his arm. Butterflies fluttered in my stomach and I wanted to scream. Finally, just when I was about to give up, I got it. "Who? I don't care but who?""Guess," he teased."Ah, no. I'm terrible at guessing." I swirled the orange juice in my glass."One try."I peered to the ceiling and plunged my mind into thoughts. "The college player. What's her name? Sasha. The one with rich parents who really loves playing tennis but she's just too bad."Paul laughed. "Okay, that was horrible."I sighed. "Come on. This suspense is killing me." Taking a sip of my juice, I waited for his response. He smiled. "Fine. It's Blaze N

Chapter 3. Blaze

Her soft lips enchanted me and I whined when she pulled away. I got lost in her hazel eyes, which glowed under the dimly lit room. I drank her beauty. Her silk silver gown clung to her skin, enhancing her wide hips and the slit on her chest exposed her perky breasts. Damn. Fuck the blonde reporter. I'm having this sexy queen. She wiped her lips, smearing lipgloss all over her mouth. "Gosh. That was not supposed to happen."I was taken aback. Women never refused me. They fell for my charms and fell hard. But her rejection turned me on the more. I loved when ladies played hard to get. The chase made me nuts. "Are you calling me a bad, kisser?" I asked. Her cheeks turned pink as she averted her head. The bartender returned with her order. She took a swig, rumpled her face and let out a sharp breath. "So? Do you like it or what?""You don't get it, do you?" Her gaze met mine. It was innocent and pure. She took two more shots. I couldn't tell if she was trying to wash away our kiss but I

Chapter 4. Caramel

"Sir? My goodness, where did they go?" An advanced man shouted as he ran toward us. I lifted Blaze to my laps and pressed a hand on his wounded side. My hands were covered in blood. Tears rolled down my eyes and I called his name over and over again. All the alcohol in my system seeped away. As each of his answers became more faint than the last."We need to get him to the hospital," I told the man. "Wait, here." He ran back and returned with a yellow Rolls-Royce. Together, we took Blaze to a nearby hospital. The ER personals dashed out with their trollers and carried him off. I ran by his side, holding his hand, until one of the nurses pulled me off."Stay here, ma'am. You can't go in there."I stood motionless, distraught from the world around me as the only sound I could hear were my loud breaths. He was taken into a room with double grey doors and two round transparent glasses. A 'don't disturb' sign hung in red. I paced from one end to another. Hoping and praying that he would b

Chapter 5. Blaze

It all came back to me. She knew. When I kissed her, when she pulled away. I didn't know whether to be happy or sad. With her as my coach I had easy access to her anytime I wanted but I never fancied having a fling with my staff. "So, you're my coach?" I smirked. Her lips quivered, she gulped."Mr Nightingale. I'm sorry. It was a mistake," she responded briskly."Okay, I'm lost," Nate added."Excuse us," I said. My gaze fixed on her."Did she do something wrong? Like we could drop her and get another coach," Nate offered."Please, don't fire me. I didn't mean to—""It's enough. Excuse us Nate."Nate gave me a once-over and left the room with Andrew. "I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking—" she tried to explain.I claimed her lips. The softness enveloped me as I sucked on them. "What are you doing? I'm trying to apologise here. I need this job and I'm good at it," she blurted."Sure you are. I just want to know. Did you like it?" She didn't respond but her red cheeks gave her answers away. "Wa

Chapter 6. Caramel

I felt embarrassed as Blaze got to know that I was his new coach, without me telling him myself. It was going to seem as if I intentionally did all that with him, because I was interested in him.He must have thought that I enjoyed it and that is the reason I didn’t reveal who I am to him. While in his car, driven by his driver, I wasn’t comfortable, because we were not in that relationship for this and his driver seemed to be stealing glances at me.“I would love it if you stop staring at me and concentrate on driving, to avoid an accident.” I said, trying not to sound harsh or frustrated.“I’m sorry, ma’am. I’m just curious. For my boss not to be going home with you, did you offend him? My boss doesn’t get angry, easily. It would be best if you tread on paths, carefully, when it comes to him.” His driver said as he took his eyes off me.“You are rude. One more word from you and I will leave this car.” I said, with gritted teeth.“I’m sorry, ma’am.”The driver probably knew that his

Chapter 7. Blaze

I looked from Stephanie to my Father and felt a little anger rising. "Blaze." My Father called rising to his feet and staring at me like he couldn't imagine he was really seeing me."So, I take it, she's your new wife?" I asked and he looked at Stephanie and nodded.Stephanie rose to her feet looking at me with a smile. To my father, it probably looked like she was trying to look nice but I knew what that smile meant. It was a smile of recognition. She probably felt it was interesting to find out I was her husband's son."Stephanie, meet Blaze, my son. Blaze meet Stephanie." He said but I didn't need that introduction, not because I already knew Stephanie but because I couldn't take my anger anymore. What was he doing here? After all these years? Because I was famous? He didn't know what he was in for."Stephanie, right. She's the lady you left mom for. She was so worth it that you made a child fatherless, she was so pretty that you gave your family sleepless nights. She was so good

Chapter 8. Caramel

I was filled with horror as I wondered why the door was left open. I rushed inside to check on Lucas and with relief, washing through my body, he was sleeping soundly. Then I must have not locked the door as I ought to, since my mind was on what Mr. Nate had to say. I gave myself a knock on my head, because that was a mistake which could end up costing a life. And I wouldn’t be able to bear Lucas, missing. He was one of the reasons I stayed alive when everything was rough for me.Then I went back to my room, had a shower and then slept off immediately I got to the bed. I must have been really stressed and the water which calmed my tensed bones had helped me to sleep soundly. The next day, I woke up, ready to take on the day and prove to Blaze, how professional I can be and I wasn’t going to allow him, sweep me off my feet. There was no time for such.I got ready and then went to the sitting room and met my brother, watching TV while he got ready for school.“You are aware that this i

Chapter 9. Blaze's POV

We looked at the door with her eyes still open wide. Then I regained my composure and sat up. The footsteps didn't stop, they only got louder and I looked at Stephanie who's mouth was slightly open as she looked at me. "Under the bed." I said because that was what she should have done the moment she heard the footsteps instead of staring at me. Then I heard a knock as Stephanie swung her feet down from the bed. I immediately put on my trousers and wiped off the sweat that had formed on my face and body. I watched as Stephanie went underneath the bed completely then went to the door. The knock came again and I opened it. It was my mother. "Blaze. Are you okay?" She asked in concern. "I'm fine Mum, just... Just tell him to get out. Tell him to leave. I don't want to see him tomorrow morning." I said and she sighed. "Blaze. I know you're very angry and frustrated but you should hear him out. He's still your father." She said looking at me with her troubled eyes. "I already did t

Chapter 10. Caramel's POV

Mr. Nate was glad to hear that I had changed my mind."So, it would be nice if we give him a heads up, tonight. Not like I am in a hurry, or sort, but it is best, this way." "I understand. I'll be expecting his reply from you, then.""Yeah, I'll call him right now."A few minutes later, Mr. Nate's call came in and I wondered what could have been Blaze's reply."Well, I have been trying to reach him, but he is not picking up. Maybe tomorrow, we'll sort this out.""Uhm... Can you send me the address, at least?" I asked, hoping to get a view of the house I'll be staying at, with him."Oh, sure!"Not long after we ended the call, I got a text from him and I checked the text. It was Blaze's address. I got up and then went out, heading towards the street, which was a bit far from mine.As I got to Blaze's street, I began to check the house number, but I didn't need to do that for long as I saw Blaze, coming out of the mansion and then he entered his car. He looked angry and i was curious a
