After that incident, summer vacation approached.

Vicente hadn't been around for a while, and Jamie stopped coming to my restaurant. I thought their drama had finally ended and that Sofia and I could return to our peaceful lives.

But one day, as I returned home with a bag of shrimp, I couldn't find Sofia.

I forced myself to calm down and called her teacher and the bookstore she frequented, but no one had seen her.

Panicked, I ran out to call the police. In the hallway, I met Melina, my neighbor, who was carrying her grocery basket. Seeing me sweating with anxiety, she asked what was wrong. When she heard about Sofia's disappearance, she was even more flustered than me.

"Patricia, I don't know if I should say this, but could it be that eligible bachelor who is chasing you took Sofia away?" she asked.
