I shrugged as I drifted off in thoughts. From the depth of my soul, I could tell that the party was the last thing I wanted in my life at the moment.

I wanted to go meet that seer who they said lived in the deepest part of the forest.

“James. I really want to go meet that seer”, I finally opened up, watching how he opened his eyes in shock, obviously thinking that I was only trying to pull his legs.

When he realized that I meant everything that I’ve just said, he wiped sweats off his forehead and looked at me intently.

“Are you being serious now?”

I took a pause to ponder on his question and after some minutes, I nodded in affirmation.

“It would surprise you. But then, my mother was at this academy too”, I said to James whose eyes widened in shock.

He looked at me intently after which he held my hands and started leading me away from the hall. I could see how interested he was in the situation and that made me so excited.

All I wanted was someone who would get invested in the
