In front of the mansion, Lvan stood at the front door, Carlos, Josh and three other alphas (Who worked for Lvan to keep the town safe) were trying their best to hold the pack back.

"Step back!!" Lvan yelled out, showing his dominant side. Immediately, all the pack members stepped back.

Still angry, afraid.

But then, they still didn't want to leave.

Everyone was here, except, Kel, the omegas and the kids.

Well, Tristan, Jake, Rex, Mandy, James, Jeol, Minna, Even, Alan and Sandy were not here as well.

"But alpha, there's a vampire here!" A female alpha yelled out. Angry and scared.

Those vampires could not be trusted!

Yes.

Turns out the guest was a vampire and the pack were not happy to see him.

Definitely, he'll bring trouble.

Those vampires never brought something good.

"Yes! Why do you have a bloodsucker in your house?!" A male alpha asked, also angry.

Seriously?

Those vampires killed half of their pack! Their family!

How could the pack leader do this?!

"What's the meaning of this?! Are you choosing their side now?! Remember what they did to us?" A male beta said.

Frustrated, Lvan yelled out, "Am not choosing them! Also, not all vampires are bad. Trust your alpha, I know exactly what am doing"

"We trust and respect you alpha, that's why we haven't made any move yet" the female alpha who spoke earlier said.

"Listen, a lot is going on. A lot that I can't tell you yet. And I admit, working with vampires isn't something that am fond of, but with what's going on, we need them" lvan said.

"But we don't know why he's here!" The male alpha who spoke earlier said.

"Exactly! And I'll find out" Lvan said.

Deities! It was a mess here!

And he (Lvan) really hope he was making the right decision.

"Now, please go back to your respected houses. If there's anything, I'll call for a meeting. That will be all" Lvan said and turned to leave.

Murmurings could be heard.

But Lvan ignored them all.

He had to find out why that vampire was here.

Didn't he know?

It was suicidal coming here alone.

Then again,........he did not come alone.

Scenting the stronger vampire, they totally ignored the another who came with him.

In the living room, Tristan shared a couch with his mate.

His decision to sleep with his son totally forgotten.

And I guess Lvan is happy now.

In any case, Jake and Rex were still on the same couch. James behind them.

James was called in case Lvan needed help.

Minna, Sandy and Debby were already in their rooms, trying to get some rest.

Three had no idea of what was going on downstairs.

Carlos behind Tristan and Lvan and Josh behind the guest, making sure to deal with him in case he attacked the pack leader.

A young man in his early 20s, stood beside the strong vampire who shared a couch alone.

Both were vampires and the one seated looked and smelt like the strongest.

It also looked like the young man was his servant.

He was dressed just like James.

Maybe he (The young man) was his butler.

Whatever the case was, Tristan, Jake and Rex could not stop staring at him.

Ignoring the young man.

Well, he (The young man) was used to it so it did not bother him

"A Vampire" Tristan said out loud, staring at the man.

He (The young man) was a vampire too, but everyone was ignoring him.

This was the first time Tristan was seeing a vampire and he must say, this guy was so good looking!

Tall, handsome, long dark-black hair and red eyes.

The man's skin looked pale and Tristan guess it was normal.

He heard they're all pale.

Including the young man standing beside him.

This was proof enough.

Also,....the young man didn' look bad.

Tristan thought, staring at the young man.

He had short brown hair and red eyes. A bit shorter than the man (Who was seated)

Handsome, but not more than the one seated.

Guess, all vampires had red eyes.

Then again, he heard that as well.

"Everything fine?" Rex asked.

He heard all that occurred.

The pack's anger, fears, he scent them all.

They brought these two, vampires into the house and the pack did not like it.

"No, but I pray it will be" Lvan answered him before looking at the guest.

"So, who are you?" He asked, a sterned look on.

A friendly smile on his face, the man answered, "Devlin"

"Surname? Where you came. Why you came here. Tell us everything" lvan said and he shook his head, saying,

"Is not important"

What?

This was more important!

Serious, did he think he was in control?

He (Lvan) was in control! 

Lvan thought, glaring at him.

"This is Fred, a friend of mine" the man whose name we now know is Devlin said.

"Pleasure meeting you all" The young man, Fred said, bowing slightly. His right hand on his chest.

Looked like they got another James.

One was enough and now they had another one.

James watched him, smiling and nodding.

Gosh! That sterned look of his was really hiding a lot.

However, they could see and sense that he liked Fred.

Well, they were one of a kind.

None of them were surprised.

"I can help you. I know every corner of Cidna Pack. I know Seil Pack and I know Rid Pack as well. I know a lot about the illegal humans organization. I know all the vampire coves involved and I know exactly what they do" Devlin announced, gaining their attentions.

They stared at him, surprised.

"How?........" Lvan began, still in shock but then, Devlin answered his question before he could ask.

"Nothing pass by me. Not when it's heading somewhere am familiar with"

"How do you know we know all about the trades and experiments? How do you know we know all about Cidna Pack and the others. What exactly do you want?" Lvan asked, suspicious.

They did not know this man.

Just met him.

Yet, he knew everything.

Carlos, Josh who were here, and the pack did not know but he knew everything.

How?

"Lock me up. Beat me up, do whatever you want, I don't mind" Devlin said, scaring Fred.

"But m...." He began but didn't get to finish his sentence.

"Is okay Fred" Devlin said, cutting him off.

Looking at Lvan, he said, "I'm not asking you to trust me. I know the tension between vampires and werewolves. I scent your pack's anger and hatred towards me and I understand. I came out of nowhere,......."

"Right after we got rid of a traitor" Tristan said and he (Devlin) smiled, continuing,

"Offering help. I understand if you don't want it, but please, think about it. Am also doing this for the sick of my people"

"For the sick of your people?" Lvan asked, suspicious.

"I mean my kind" Devlin said, smiling.

"Vampires really talk differently" Tristan said.

"Then,.....I'll have you stay here as a friend but, you'll have a guard around you no matter where you go" lvan said.

"To the toilet?" Fred asked and he (Lvan) replied,

"Especially there"

Well, that was understandable.

People can do a lot in washrooms, where no one was around and they can't be seen.

Tristan thought, nodding.

"My most trusted people are all gone. So,.....we'll see, tomorrow" lvan said and Devlin nodded, replying with,

"Okay"

Well, for now, they'll see what the man had to offer.

It was not safe.

Not exactly a good decision.

But then,.....like they said, 'Don't judge a book by its cover'

Maybe, this vampire, Devlin, could be of help to them.

"Then, Carlos will watch over you and Fred. James will show you your rooms" Lvan said.

"Excuse me, this........I mean, I'll like to make a request" Fred said.

"Go on" Lvan replied, looking at him.

Was he (Fred) going to show his real self now?

Lvan thought he was Devlin's butler or something but then, Devlin introduced him as a friend.

That was suspicious.

Again, what's so suspicious about this dear Lvan. Now, you find everything suspicious.

"Can I stay in the same room as my friend?" Fred asked, surprising Lvan.

That was it?

"Please" he (Fred) pleaded.

Having no problem with that, Lvan agreed.

"Sure"

Carlos will be there.

He was a werewolf, so whatever they plan on doing, he'll hear loud an clear.

"But there's only one bed" Rex said.

Immediately, James came in, "I'll make arrangements for that"

"Okay" Lvan said.

"Then, please follow me" James said and Fred and Devlin nodded.

They followed James upstairs, Carols following them.

"Okay!, we should get some rest as well" Rex said.

"Zane called earlier. They recused Colten, Sebastian and Corey" Lvan announced.

He almost forgot about that.

His friends were coming back and definitely, they won't make it tomorrow.

They had a long way back.

"That's great" Rex said, looking at Jake who was smiling.

"Yeah" he (Jake) replied, happy.

His mates were coming back.

This was great news!

Finally, he won't sleep alone.

He really missed them.

"Then, you can share the good news Jake. You're finally pregnant" Tristan said, smiling.

Feeling bad, Jake looked down, saying, "Tristan, am sorry I didn't tell you"

"For how long have you known that you can give birth?  From day one? The very day you found out I can't? For how long have you known you're pregnant? And why didn't you tell me?" Tristan asked, hurt and disappointed.

How could his friend hide this from him?

"I found out a few days ago. And I found out am pregnant just yesterday night" Jake said.

Seriously?

Tristan thought.

"Yeah, congratulations" he said, rolling his eyes.

Tristan wasn't angry or jealous.

He was just hurt that his friend hid this from him.

He was okay.

At least one of them could make their mates happy.

He already had a son.

And Lvan was okay with his situation.

He still wanted him.

That's all he wanted.

"I didn't tell you because I was scared of your reaction and I feel guilty" Jake said and Tristan's expression softened.

Well, he understood him (Jake)

"Actually, I never took those pills. Albert and Zac switched them with ones that also hide my scent and replace it with that of an alpha's. I never got the traits of an alpha with those pills" Jake said, surprising everyone.

"Tristan" lvan said, angry.

How come his mate's brothers gave Jake those pills and never gave one to his mate?

Didn't they care about Tristan?

He was their brother for deities sake!

"They wanted to do the same for you Tristan. But then,......your parents never gave them a chance to do that. They also hid the pills and they never found out" Jake explained and Lvan relaxed.

That......made sense.

*Sigh, but still, the results was not good.

"That's okay. At least one of us can give birth and have a happy life" Tristan said, smiling.

"Tristan" Jake called out to him, feeling guilty.

Lvan took his hand, gently rubbing his thumb at the back of his hand, his way of comforting his mate.

Tristan smiled at his mate, once again, grateful to have him.

He did not know what he'll do if Lvan wasn't in his life.

In this kind of state.

Tristan was okay.

More than okay.

Looking at Jake, he said, "I might not have a child of my own, but I have Alan"

"Lvan said that's okay and won't change a thing between us. That alone, makes me happy" Tristan said, smiling.

Lvan smiled, loving his mate more.

And he wasn't the only one, Rex loved him more but then, he couldn't help but feel jealous.

He was all alone.

Jake, on the other hand....was a bit surprised but he was happy to know this.

"So, sincerely,.... Congratulations" Tristan said, smiling at him (Jake) and he smiled back.

Tristan was always be important to him (Jake) and he (Jake) will never betray him.

Never.

"That's my mate" Lvan said, gently caressing his hair.

Tristan leaned into his touch, feeling more comfortable, pleased.

Morning (Time, around 9am)

Lvan already left with Josh to send Dr Jerin home.

Josh, the head of security gone, two alphas, were appointed to be in charge while Carlos focus on his mission, watching the two guests.

The pack were still in a bad mood and didn't like the vampires in town.

However, they decided to trust their pack leader, and so, they've been going on with their day.

Not going anywhere near the mansion just like their pack leader told them this morning.

Jake was pregnant, needed a lot of rest, Dr Jones said, and so, he couldn't leave the house or his bed.

Rex,...Tristan didn't know what was wrong with him but then,....once again, he has locked himself in his room.

No one was free to accompany him, and so, Tristan came to work alone.

But then,......who knew he was needed.

Entering the bar, Tristan realized, there was no one there just Kel who was busy covering the counter with a huge white cloth. 

All tables, chairs, everything in the bar, was covered with white cloths.

And Tristan knew what that meant.

"What's wrong Kel?" He asked, worried.

Why was his boss doing this?

Done with his work, Kel turned to look at him, a sad look on his face, "I'm closing down and am leaving" he said, surprising Tristan.

"What?" Tristan exclaimed.

What happened? Why was he (Kel) leaving?

Also, why was he so sad?

Tristan could smell his sadness.

"My love, my mate doesn't want me anymore, why should I stay?" Kel asked, tears in his eyes.

Seriously?!

"The one you're in love with is your mate as well?" Tristan asked, surprised.

"Yes" Kel confirmed.

Seriously! Who was in their right mind to reject such an amazing person?

It wasn't Even,....right?

Then again, Even wasn't Kel's mate, right?

"Do me a favor Tristan, tell lvan that am leaving"

"Kel" Tristan called out his name, devastated.

Seriously, wasn't there something they could do?

Did he really have to leave?

"I'll be back. I only need some time alone. I'm heading for Virginia. Please take care of the bar. You're the boss now" Kel said, smiling.

"Kel"

"Actually, am thinking of turning it into a cafe and a bookshop"

"What?" Tristan exclaimed in shock and he laughed.

Seriously! Why was he telling him (Tristan) all this?!

"Please do that for me. All the workers have been notified. Tell Jake I said goodbye"

"Kel"

He didn't want to be boss!

Tristan wanted his boss!

"See you"

"Kel!" Tristan yelled out.

Kel ignored him, heading for the door and Tristan watched him, feeling helpless.

Seriously!

Why was this happening?!
