Serena's POV:

I ran all day and night; I was always tense and did not dare to breathe even a little. I always looked back; even though no one chased me, I still couldn't relax. I'm sure by this time Elias received the news that I ran away; he was sending someone to track me down at all costs. Because I still have value to use, letting a prey slip out my eyes, with Elias' personality, won't forgive me.

Lost in thought, I accidentally tripped over a branch and fell forward. To protect Sweet, I curled up and held it in my lap, letting my body hit the stump and then the rock.
