Chapter 32

I didn't believe him to be a good person, so I ignored that improper suggestion and turned around and ran into the woods. There was only one thought in my mind: to run fast; I was like poor prey trying to escape the hunter. The pain in my thighs returned as I ran, and gradually, my pace slowed. But when I looked back, I didn't see anyone chasing.

When I thought I had escaped, something suddenly wrapped around my ankle, my leg was jerked, and my whole body fell forward. I looked down, not knowing when two ropes tied my feet.

I couldn't understand that the group of men had already caught up with me, even though they hadn't lifted their feet when I ran away.

The man who spoke to me earlier appeared before me with a sly smile, rubbing his bearded chin mockingly. "Why don't you keep running? Only weak animals have to run away from strong animals. You look so pitiful when you try to get away from us when I just flicked a finger and easily caught you back."
