Over the course of the next few nights, I wake before sunset and, slipping on my servant’s dress, sneak out of the castle to the other castle ruins and down into that room. I don’t know if he is a rogue or something else, but I seem to be called back to him. I feel like I am 13 again and I am sneaking out of my cell and then out of the Master's chambers to go and see Ali in her room in the servant's quarters.

He never says anything to me and it is always when I am about to leave that he seems to give in to himself and grab me, sinking his fangs into my neck. He never takes much and the pain he causes is lessening. It kind of reminds me of when Master Jeremiah was teaching me to obey him and then again when he was under that dark spell with Lexis.

I always made sure that I was back in the castle, in my chambers, showered and waiting for Adonis each night. It was good to be working alongside him again and not feel as weak as I was. It was strange the more time I spent in that ruin
