Chapter twenty-one.

“Lily, no,” Zero screams and he wraps me in his arms as we both fall through the air. Zero somehow flips us just before we both hit ground.

Pain shot through my body but I ignored and crawled over to Zero lying unconscious.

“Zero,” I shake him.

He doesn’t open his eyes.

I check for a pulse when I don’t feel one. I start to panic and start chest compressions.

A crowd forms around us but I can’t be worried about that now…..not when Zero wasn’t breathing.

I tilted his head back and breathed air into his lungs and started back the chest compressions.

“Come on Zero, Breathe,”

After five minutes he still wasn’t breathing and I slowed down on the compressions when I started to breakdown realizing he was gone.

He can’t be.

Why did he do this?

How could he give up his life for mine? I’m worthless.

I shook my head and start pushing harder.

“Breathe,” I cried.

Archer placed his hand on my shoulder.

“He’s gone, Lily,”
