Ember's POV.

Dragged to the stake set off numerous alarms to my nerves. They were jittery in anticipation. I knew that my beloved Trent was going to kill me. He was damn serious about it and even if I tried to act all mature, deep down, I was mess. A very big one.

All that I was hoping on now was a miracle. I didn't know how possible it would be but I refused to fight the guards and I was sure that they were vet surprised.

Getting to know that fighting wasn't going to solve a thing helped me conserve my little energy

"I know that you're about to cut me into half but don't you have some conscience, let's even forget about the fact that all of these happened, am I the worst person on earth? Certainly not. I know that I'm not the worst so you guys have to cut me some slack. You're just as worse as I am and I think I'm even better because i feel remorseful, you don't." I fired at Trent's guards.
