Chapter 4

Logan didn't respond, but I wasn't in a hurry. He was probably still tangled up with that woman. He'd see the text when they were done.

I let out a scoff as I stared at Aiden's photo on my phone, my heart sinking. I wondered if Aiden could see this. I had sworn to avenge him. The people who caused his death would get what they deserved. I wouldn't let him lie there alone in that cold grave.

Fighting back the overwhelming sadness, I forwarded the video evidence to my lawyer. The lawyer was thrilled, replying, "With this proof of his affair, we can claim 70%, maybe even 90% of his assets."

I smiled weakly and finally laid down for a decent night's sleep. Since Aiden's death, I hadn't been able to sleep a wink. I prayed that he would come to me in my dreams so I could see him again.

The next morning, I woke up to someone pounding on the front door. I had forgotten I'd changed the locks so that Logan couldn't get in.
