The next moment, Lily walked in.

I thought Nina had taken her to dance class today. So why was she back already?

"Aunt Gemma, what are you doing?"

"Oh, just looking something up online."

At that exact moment, the video finished copying, and I quickly pulled out the flash drive.

"Lily, you can’t tell anyone about this, okay? It’s our little secret."

I knelt down in front of her and handed her a piece of candy.

Even though her health had been saved at the cost of my children’s lives, she didn’t know that. I wasn’t going to let my hatred touch her.

"Okay, Aunt Gemma."

"Actually, I want to tell you a secret."

She looked at me with wide eyes.

"I saw Uncle Chris with my own eyes. He threw your babies to their deaths. I was so scared, I didn’t dare tell anyone."

My heart skipped a beat.

"Don’t be scared, Lily. When the time comes, I might need your help with something, okay?"
