Chapter 8

After some time, Charles hobbled in after tending to his injury. He was interrupted by a call from Avery, who was crying while still speaking to him flirtatiously.

After hanging up, Charles shared that Avery had been attacked and needed his help at the hospital. "Rosie, Avery's a timid girl. She's never experienced anything like this and is terrified. I grew up with her after all. I have to go. Once I solve the things there, I'll take some time off and go on a trip with you. Haven't you wanted to see the ocean for a long time? What do you think? I promise to give you the best experience."

Charles rambled on, and I impatiently agreed just so he could stop talking. Hearing my answer, his eyes lit up before he limped away.

Before closing the door, he shouted outside, "Once Avery's problem is solved, we'll leave immediately!"
