Chapter 4

I was taken to the hospital, and the doctor revealed that I had been pregnant for two months, but unfortunately, the fetus did not survive. My heart sank as this marked my second miscarriage. Before I could process the news, Charles gave me a harsh look. He coldly remarked, "Losing the baby is probably for the best. It proves you're an idiot who could not even take care of yourself. What's the point of getting pregnant?"

Despite my aching heart, Charles' cruel words strangely brought me a sense of peace. When Charles' family learned about my previous miscarriage, my mother-in-law was devastated. She believed I was bad luck and insisted that Charles divorce me.

It was a matter of my physical well-being, something beyond my control, yet they placed all the blame on me, forcing me to confess to things I had not done. I had sacrificed my pride, kneeling before the Logan family, pleading with Charles for another chance. I vowed not to let him down again, saving our marriage by a thread.
