Chapter 6

I did not respond, but my cold expression said everything.

Our past together played out in my mind like a movie, and I was just a spectator. Now, when I looked at Elsa, I could not find that spark anymore. It was just a sense of irritation.

Elsa, however, tried to reach out and hold onto me, but all she grasped was empty air. She stared at her hand in disbelief. "Why? Why are you doing this? Is it just because I let Leo use our new home? But he’s your distant cousin too! I was only trying to help."

"I know, Elsa. Leo is your ex from college. Stop pretending. You know exactly what was going through your mind back then."

But she did not want to listen and suddenly began to shout, "I’ll pay! I’ll pay, okay? I want the game tool, the one that makes Seth stop being mad at me. I’ll pay for it right now."

Her voice was pleading, tears welling up in her eyes. On my phone, a notification popped up. An attempted transfer from Elsa for 2,000 dollars, waiting for me to accept.
