Nigel’s expression was calm, and he did not appear to vent his anger on Sadie.

“Ms. Wolfenden, let’s part ways after this meal, and we shall never cross paths again. I’ve already done everything that I can within my capability by coming to this appointment tonight.”

Sadie cracked a smile so forceful that it was a hideous smile.

She calmed herself with great effort and said, “Mr. Jackson, I’m still very grateful for everything you did regardless. We must enjoy a good feast tonight.”

Nigel nodded insincerely. He could not possibly not eat anything since he was here in person.

The meal was carried out in a rather tense ambiance as Sadie and Nigel were not in the mood to chat leisurely.
