Chapter 37

Elena’s POV

“I think you’re fit to go now the doctor already discharged you and I have missed you”. Alex said looking happy.

As I left the hospital with Alex, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. I was happy to be going home, but I was also worried about Bonnie’s mom's sudden sickness. Alex seemed genuinely sorry and eager to make amends, but I knew him too well. I couldn't shake off the feeling that he was hiding something as usual.

As we drove home, Alex told me about his busy schedule and how he had been working non-stop to meet a deadline. I listened intently, trying to believe him, but my mind kept wandering back to Bonnie and the trip we were supposed to take.

When we arrived home, Alex helped me settle in and even made me dinner. It felt like old times, but I couldn't help but wonder if he was just trying to manipulate me again.
