Chapter 29

Elena’s POV

I hesitated, unsure of what to do. Part of me wanted to see Alex, to demand answers and closure. But another part of me was scared, scared of getting hurt again.

Bonnie noticed my hesitation and stepped in. "Elena, don't do it," she warned. "He's had weeks to contact you and he's only reaching out now? Something's not right."

But I shook my head, my mind made up. "I need to see him, Bonnie. I need to know what's going on."

Bonnie sighed, her expression worried. "Fine, but be careful. And don't go alone."

I nodded, my heart racing with anticipation. "I'll be fine, Bonnie. I promise."

I hung up the phone and took a deep breath, steeling myself for what was to come. I was going to see Alex, and I was going to get some answers.

I got to the lobby where Alex and I spent most of our time, I saw Alex sitting down and looking at me with guilt.
