Flashback.
A young woman's voice was heard saying, "Look at you, you're quite handsome, huh?" accompanied by laughter.
"Hm." Kylian wanted to respond, but his whole body was numb. He couldn't move at all. His vision was just dark.
"If only I could marry someone as handsome as you, I would be happy." The woman laughed again, but her laughter sounded like she was about to cry.
'Why did you say that?' Kylian wanted to ask, but he couldn't. He felt like something was taking him away into deeper darkness.
Every time the woman exhaled into his mouth, Kylian saw a glimmer of light coming toward him, as if guiding him to save himself.
“Cough.” The woman coughed, but it sounded like someone was vomiting blood.
"...so I hope you stay alive." Kylian heard the voice getting softer until nothing could be heard from the woman anymore.
Kylian Arthur could vaguely see around. He saw the woman sitting beside him. Her eyes were closed, and her lips were smiling with blood on the corners of her lips and on her clothes.
Kylian's eyes widened. His whole body suddenly had the strength to move again. What was stuck in the woman's shoulder was larger than a spear, but not as long as an arrow. It was like a tooth or a horn of a Xenobeast.
"Damn it." Kylian cursed. He didn't know that the person who had been trying to help him was actually dying more than he was.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Kylian heard the sound of his walkie-talkie. He immediately looked for the source of the sound.
"Taiwo, where are you?" Kylian asked on the walkie-talkie.
"Are you joking? I should be the one asking that. You haven't answered at all."
"I've sent you my coordinates. Please take me to the ICU."
"Huh? What happened? Yes, I received your coordinates, but it's hard for me to climb up that cliff."
"Where are you?"
"Upstream. Near the ruins."
"Okay, I'll go there."
Kylian picked up the woman and carried her to where his friend was. For him, it was not difficult to jump from one tree to another or from one cliff to another. He did it so smoothly.
"Hey, Arthur?!" Taiwo was shocked when Kylian arrived.
"I have to take her to the ICU right now."
"Outer City or Main City?" Taiwo asked.
"Military district."
"Are you crazy? Is she your wife? She won't be accepted in the military district," Taiwo frowned.
"Isn't she Duna from the WSS mercenaries? Let's call them. They'll take care of it," Sacco suggested.
"You know her?" Taiwo asked.
"No, but I know that she is the most beloved member of WSS," Sacco answered casually, with a smirk on her face.
"Huh?" Taiwo was at a loss for words.
"There's no time to wait for them. She's dying. The facilities in the Outer City won't be able to take care of her," Kylian said firmly.
"Then what do you want? Register her as your wife?" Taiwo quipped.
"Yeah. You're R5, you can do it, right?" Kylian got into the armored vehicle next to Taiwo.
"Man, are you serious?" Taiwo stared at Arthur in disbelief.
"What is the requirement?" Arthur asked as he leaned against the doorway. He then caressed some parts of Duna's clothes that looked like pockets.
"What are you doing? Logan will kill you if he finds out," Sacco said with a laugh. Taiwo looked more burdened.
"I got her ID card, is this enough?" Kylian asked.
"Yes, that's enough. I'll call the Governor to take care of the rest," Sacco said as she took out her cell phone.
"Hello, my queen. The best governor of Base 657," Sacco greeted.
"Why did you call me all of a sudden? Is there an emergency?"
"You know Duna from WSS?"
"Yes, what is up?"
"Arthur f#cked her until she passed out. Now she's in critical condition due to having been attacked by a Xenobeast."
"Arthur, that sh#thead?!"
"Yes, he is a sh#t, but Arthur feels guilty, so he wants to register Duna as his wife in the database. Can she be treated in the military district?"
"Argh. He's giving me a headache. Yeah, take Duna to the military district. Just send me their ID cards."
"Thank you, my dear governor."
"You have to treat me. Remember that."
"Yes, I'll buy you your favorite Strawberry Waffles."
"Very-"
Sacco ended the call. "Give it to me."
"Damn it, what nonsense! You have broken my reputation." Kylian Arthur grumbled as he took out his ID card and threw it at Sacco along with Duna's ID card.
"You should thank me." Sacco caught the ID card Arthur threw without a hitch.
"Okay, I'll consider everything is done. Let's go." Taiwo quickly got into the armored vehicle and sat in the driver's seat. Sacco followed him.
The armored vehicle moved very quickly until they arrived at the base. Sacco got off at the administration office, and Taiwo dropped Kylian off right in front of the military hospital.
"Please take her to the ICU. You can register her under my name," Kylian said as he met a black-haired woman with round glasses wearing a white coat. The name on the nametag was Stina Voigt.
"Arthur, what happened?" Stina asked. Her eyes widened when she saw the woman Arthur brought to the hospital.
"There's no time to explain. Hurry, take her before it's too late." Arthur's eyes looked serious.
"She's not a member of the milit-" Stina was cut off.
"She's my wife," Arthur said in a firm and clear tone of voice.
"Huh?" Stina looked even more shocked than before.
After saying that, Arthur fell and lost consciousness.
"Ack?! Quickly take Kylian Arthur to the ER and take Duna to the ICU."
"Understood." Several people hurriedly ran, following Stina's instructions.

"That's how it happened." Arthur had just finished telling his story.
"I don't know what to say. It feels like marriage isn't something sacred anymore," I said while clearing the dirty dishes on the table.
"Sacred? You want me to kiss you in front of everyone?" Arthur asked while eating the rice crust that I had fried.
"T-that's not it."
"If you want, I can also bang you in the open space," Kylian said, which made me annoyed.
"Why did you talk like an uneducated person?"
"..." Arthur said nothing, as if he were ignoring me.
After cleaning up the kitchen, I didn't know what else to do, so I decided to go back to Arthur's room. I found many magazines and newspapers in his closet. My attention was drawn to the various headlines written there.
