Learning about the past

Sitting down in the cafe, I scanned my eyes around, making sure that I wasn't followed this time.

I took in the general splendor of the dim lighting and warm chatter amongst the other people at the cafe. It had been ages since I've been out like this.

Since I became a mother of triplets, my life has revolved around work, my children, and their school. It was nice to be out again, even though the circumstances surrounding it were threatening.

The entire atmosphere of the place was rather cozy, but I was not here for romantics. Right then, my phone suddenly beeped and I quickly retrieved it,

"Meet me at the corner table."

Reluctantly, I stood up and scanned around once more before making my way to his table.

To think just days ago, I was considering letting go of finding my family for the sake of my children's safety, but now I was walking towards the same danger I tried to escape from.
