IRIS'S POV

POISONED SPIES

My sleep was disrupted by a tap on my bedroom door. I stretched for a minute before I ushered the person in. It was Leon, his face etched with worry.

“What's wrong Leon?” I asked him, already up from my sleeping position.

“Something happened to the spies.” He announced. My heart dropped, even without knowing what it is, I was already terribly scared of what it could be.

I didn't ask anymore questions, I stood up as we walked towards the quarter together. Helen had just woken up and followed us too.

When I arrived, I found the bodies lying in the courtyard, their lips stained with white foam.

The sight sent a chill down my spine. How was I supposed to find out who was responsible now? These spies were the only leads we had, and someone had silenced them before we could extract the truth.

Helen's hand was over her mouth, shocked at the sight of the scene.

Everything happened overnight, the spies were already dead.
