IRIS'S POV

FINDING A NEW ALPHA

I had hoped Gavin would come to my house and finally reveal the truth he’d been hiding. But he hadn’t called or texted, which was unusual for him.

I didn’t expect much from him, just a straightforward explanation of what was really going on.

If he’d lied before about searching for Jerry’s parents in the rural area, then what was the truth? What was he concealing from me?

My thoughts were interrupted when Helen’s head poked into my room through the slightly ajar door.

“Are you still doing makeup?” she teased, her eyes dancing with mischief.

“I’m all done. Did the pack officials have any complaints?” I asked, spraying a mist of perfume on myself.

Helen flopped onto my bed, her gaze fixed on me. “Yeah, they’re demanding a new female Alpha, one who won’t keep them waiting at meetings,” she quipped, a playful grin on her face.
