Charlie’s POV
As I leave, I almost run into that little girl, Katie. She stops and drops the lolly she was sucking to stare at me. Her body was visibly vibrating as she backed away and moved to the stairs. I was not intentionally trying to scare her, but it did mean that she would stay out of my way.
I wanted to go for a run and glance back at the closed door of Zach’s office and start to shift but this shift was different. It was painful and Gypsy kept apologising over and over.
Hardly any hair sprouted from my limbs and I seemed to be growing taller and more muscly rather than my Lycan form which was almost like a wolf.
“What’s happening?” I ask Gypsy
“We are a hybrid”
“What does that mean?”
“You will see!”
My bones cracked as I grew and my clothes could no longer contain me and break apart falling to the floor, My hands and feet were large with claws protrudin
Charlie’s POVThe guys were getting closer, they were moving quickly. Kiwi continued to rant and scream at me about what I had done, demanding to know why I killed Adam but I thought it would be obvious to her, yet for some reason she could not make the connection and I thought she was a Seer.As I move towards Kiwi, Zach jumps out of the forest and grabs her from behind, his arms locking her in place. Ripper saunters out the woods, still in wolf form and I wondered why he hadn’t shifted back, why he had not let Max out.Zach looks over at Adam’s body and raises his eyes to me and moves his lips to say ‘Thank you’ which surprises me. Ripper watches me intensely, my eyes locked with his whilst Kiwi continues to shout at all of us.“You must have seen this coming Kiwi” I snarl at her.She drops her eyes shaking her head sides to side “That’s why it was all dark. Because you are this... this monste
Alpha Zach’s POVWatching the old woman die was nothing different for myself and I was surprised it was having this much of an effect on Charlie especially after she just killed my brother and Max's sister..Yes I ensured that the humans of Huntington had enough oleander to protect themselves from our kind but humans were still a pathetic weak force that somehow were still alive across the globe.Charlie follows me outside, the clothes she was wearing swamped her body, hiding her beautiful frame, I wanted to tear them from her body. She keeps looking back to the house, her confusion and worry affecting her scent“It is not your fault Charlie” I knew it was coming, the need to blame herself, it was what she always did.She finally looks up at me “I’m a monster”“No, you are a Queen”Charlie frowns at me“You do not get it do you?”She throws
Charlie’s POVMy head was so confused and Gypsy was no help either. I felt Zach, everything about him wanted me and yet I had a nagging feeling scratching at my brain about Max and I just could not get him out of my head. He maybe Ripper but Max was still in there somewhere. Just trapped.I leave Zach’s room and walk across the landing to my own room. Flipping the light switch, I find Ripper curled up on my bed, fast asleep. He wakes as I close the door, his big eyes on me as he starts cleaning himself.“Is it true?”He continues to clean himself and asks me if what was true“You are permanently a Rogue, and you cannot come back from it”He finally stops what he is doing“Alpha Zach told you then!”“You lied to me Max”“Ripper, my name is Ripper. Max is gone Charlie. I am pure wolf, my human life has long gone”“Then why did you mark me?
Alpha Zach’s POVI stir and find my arm wrapped around a pillow instead of my beautiful mate. The sun was bright and shining in through the open curtains. She liked to sleep with the curtains open, just one of her many small but cute traits. Charlie’s scent was everywhere. It made sense; it was her room, but where was she?.Reaching out to her through mind link, I find that I am blocked, just like she had done before when she did not want to talk. Climbing out of bed, I frown. The night had been difficult, I had laid awake for hours, and I knew she was awake to. She was just as restless as I was. I quietly crept into her room, if she had told me no, then I would have just left. She didn’t answer and I climbed in with her. Pulling her body into mine. I found her company just as reassuring as she found mine, it was why I seeked her out.I was aware I was naked, I hated sleeping with clothes on, but she had been fully clothed, and I let my
Charlie’s POVIt hurt so much, the pain of using my magic to stop Ripper was unbearable. It was like a painful punishment for using my magic against my mate but it wasn’t my mate in there, it was his wolf. Max was long gone!As I shoot the red vines out at him, I watch the large wolf crash to the ground, his legs bound together beneath him as he tries to gnaw at them and I seal his mouth shut, sending the vines across his snout, locking his jaw together. He doesn’t even look at me, I could tell by his lengthening fur and teeth that there was no chance for him anymore, no chance that I would ever see Max again!I feel hands on my own, gently pulling them down and Zach turns me around pulling me into his chest. I could not control the sobbing, the tears came thick and fast as I finally understood that I was losing another person that I loved.I don’t remember the walk back to the packhouse. I think Zach must have carried me bu
Alpha Zach’s POVShe tries to sneak quietly pass my room but I was up late and I knew exactly where she was going. She had just discovered that Ripper was still alive and I knew she had to find out for herself that Max was gone.I give her a chance, Ripper cannot hurt her from inside the dungeon but when it has been more than ten minutes since she went in, the Alpha in me needs to know what is happening. Just as I reach for the handle, she comes out, slamming the door behind her, visibly frustrated and crying again.“He is really gone”I just hold her in my arms as she lets out the tears. I did not know what to do, I had never had this before and what was worse it that I could feel everything, every single emotion that she was feeling affected me too.I sink down to the ground, leaning my back against the dungeon door, holding her on my lap and against my chest as she completely breaks down. She wasn’t even like this over Al
Charlie’s POVThe Moon Goddess came to me when I was asleep. I was dreaming of being in a clearing in the forest. Ripper on one side of the circle whilst Zach stood on the opposite side. My heart felt like it was being torn in two until she appeared. She looked just like the images I had seen of her in books when I had first learnt about our kind. Her dark hair hung in loose curls around her face and down to her waist. Her long thin blue dress showed off all her curves and revealed her bare feet as she walked across the grass towards me. Her feet making no sound. She takes no notice of the wolf or the man that are watching us and focuses solely on me. She does not speak and gently takes my hand, pulling me across the grass towards Zach. Her smile growing as she watched me take my place next to him.“Dearest child” her voice was soft “The battle in your heart has gone on for too long. I have come to help”She positions
Alpha Zach’s POVIt was the best and most eventful night of my life, she was perfect and I could not wait to do it all again. She curls herself into me, her eyes closed, her body relaxed, a big grin on her face as she rests her head on my chest and I trail my fingers lightly over her skin. Even my Lycan was satisfied, and it takes a lot to make him happy. Our mixed scent was strong in this room which made me feel even better. She had wanted me as much as I wanted her and I kiss the top of her head. Her hands gripping onto me as she tries to snuggle into me furtherShe suddenly sits up, pulling the sheet up around her chest as she looks at the door. She turns to me and tells me Kayden is waiting for me.“He mind linked you?” I was curious because I had not marked her yet.She shakes her head at me “I just know”No more than two minutes, there was a knock on my door followed by Kayden asking if I had a minute.

She was awake and we stay laid on our backs, turning our heads to face each other, her eyes were red and black, the grey colour long gone but I didn’t care, she was here with me and she could hear and see me.“How do you feel?”I didn’t tell her that she had no magic anymore, I wanted to make sure she understood what had happened. I wanted her to know that Zach was definitely dead.“The magic is gone isn’t it?” she whispers quietly“How do you know?”“I can feel it, or lack of it. The constant bubbling has gone”Charlie had never described it in that way before and I wondered if that was what had been causing the panic attacks, the constant feeling of something inside of her. She hadn’t had an attack since she had been with me or maybe Zach had somehow causing them with his magic, so he could kiss her and make her think only he could make her feel better.I wipe t
As I kneel by Charlie I stare around in shock. He was dead, he was really dead. Zach’s bloodied limbs were scattered all around and I kick his head away from Charlie and I. I didn’t want to see him, any of him. The battle with him was finally over. After everything I did, everything Charlie had done, it had taken the hybrids to collectively work together to bring him down. Charlie was free, we were all free.I could hear her heartbeat fine and I check her neck, I wanted to see if his mark was still there. It was fading before my eyes and I hear Matthew gasp next to me.“Their marks, they are fading” he breathes a sigh of relief. He couldn’t believe it, he looked all over Alice’s legs and feet just in case he had missed it but just like Charlie’s, hers was gone and so was Eva’s.“Why are they not moving?” I try not to sound franticHe shakes his head at me “I don’t know,
Everyone was oddly calm including Charlie. Everyone except myself.Charlie had just told us the news we had been waiting for and i could not understand how everyone was so calm.Could Zach have known this was going to happen? Could he have planned for Charlie and her sisters to all be in place? It seemed impossible and yet possible at the same time. Zach had kept many secrets from everyone, and they were slowly unravelling but on his terms and we needed to change that.“I will meet him” Matthew suggests, and I shake my head. The last thing we needed Zach knowing is that we had the first hybrid in existence in my pack.“No, I will wait in the forest for him. I need you to watch over Charlie”He frowns at me, telling me that it was too risky for me to go out there in my state. With Jett back I was feeling stronger than ever. I may not look it, but I felt great.“It should be me” Charlie pipes up from
A couple of days had passed, and Charlie trained with Matthew every second she could, even when he told her to rest, she wouldn’t, or she couldn’t sit still. She was determined to succeed. He trained her mentally and physically but would not tell me what was involved. She had accepted her role as mine and the packs Luna, it was the only way for everyone to communicate with her, particularly Matthew and she needed all the help he could offer. Her sisters had not restored her hearing or sight yet because they needed to be certain that Charlie could hold the block and at the moment it was Jett and me. Her skills were growing massively but her mind still felt weak.Charlie was now able to move through the forest alone and without making a single sound, her feet touching the ground in silence as she moved. It was like she had tuned into nature, she even made it from the pack house to the training area alone yesterday and that is not an easy walk. Matthew
“It is not going to be easy”Matthew tries to warn me, but I had already thought about that and tell him just as much“And I am not even sure that it is possible for a wolf to do succeed in what I have achieved with Alice”Again, I nod my head, I understood what he was trying to say to me. It was his way of explaining that it might fail but if I do not try then we will never know.“You will get one option Alpha Max. You have to get into her head quicker than him, almost barricade her mind from his”“When and how?”“When she starts waking. At the moment she is unconscious. He can’t get in her mind whilst she is out of it, the wolfsbane in her system is too strong. The moment she starts waking will be your chance and your only chance. It will take all of your energy Alpha and if it fails, there will be no second chance!”We watch Charlie and her body does not move except
Hey everyone, I hope you are all well and I want to thank you so much for reading up until now, I really appreciate it and it keeps me motivated to write. However I just wanted to let you all know that I will be taking a few days off due to unforeseen personal problems but I promise not to keep you all waiting to long, the end is near and I hope you will all be happy with how the story ends after all the sadness that Max and Charlie have suffered. Take care and I will try and get back as soon as possible x Taylor West
I just sit and watch her. Pain is etched on Charlie’s face as she fights to keep the block up. People come and go, mostly to speak to me or Anna but I wasn’t interested. I just wanted to find a way to help Charlie break from his grasp on her.Matthew comes to find me at one point, but he frowns when he sees Charlie “What is she doing?”“She is blocking Zach”He stands by me and watches her like I do“Why are you here Matthew?”“I did come to speak to you, but now I am interested in why she is suddenly able to block him”“Alexander spurred her on”“Your deceased brother?”“That’s the one”Matthew does not speak he just nods his head with a surprised look on his face.“What did you want to speak to me about?”“I would like to offer my services”“You are already helping&rdq
She walks silently alongside me her fingers laced with my own. She doesn’t stumble or trip in the forest like she knows where she is going, but her fear was unmistakable. It exuded from her and even when I ask her she just tells me that everything is fine, but it wasn’t. Not only could I sense it coming from her, but I also felt her fear too and it wasn’t me that she was afraid of.I find myself stood in front of the packhouse, not the place I was expecting to be and I must have stopped abruptly because Charlie asks me what’s happening.“We are at the pack house?!”I wasn’t questioning Charlie, I was questioning myself, I thought we were further away than this and closer to the hospital.Charlie frowns at me “They built you a new packhouse?”“They did”She reaches her hand out and I guide her forward a little. As she holds her hand against the door she smiles but doesn’t
