Chapter ninety nine

Zach’s POV

“Are you all fucking kidding me?” Sighed Mateo as he got out of the car. He was visibly annoyed. “We had our asses chased like this was a fast and furious movie and you all show up now?”

“Apologies sir Mateo,” a general joined us. “We were tending to the wounded while also engaging with some of the rogues in the west, the east and the north.”

While he was talking, a missile found its way flying into our midst as my quick thinking kicked in.

“Look out!” I yelled before zipping into the missile. When I got into its range, I grabbed it, turned it around and flung it back where it came from as I watched it explode in the distance.

I looked around to see if everyone was okay before waving to my general.

“Is everyone okay?” I asked with everyone responding positively. “Where’s the bunker? It isn’t safe here to make plans.”

“Right this way, alpha,” the general nodded, taking Mateo and I down a flight of stairs underground before we walked through a dimly lit tunnel.
