Chapter one hundred and three

Mateo’s POV

As I ventured through the forest, getting deeper and deeper, the trees towering above me, casting dappled shadows across the forest floor, I heard the explosion back at the camp.

I had gone out of the underground camp when the alpha had wanted me out of it. My idea of wiping this forest clean of the rogues wasn’t a bad one. They had caused so many deaths and destruction.

I knew I was a rogue before being forgiven by the alpha and brought into this pack, but I didn’t go around killing people. I just wanted the alpha to see how different we were and get his head back on track.

The explosions got louder as I rolled my eyes. They could handle it anyway. They were capable of handling anything the rogues would throw at them.

The rustling of leaves and snapping of twigs underfoot served as a constant reminder that I was not alone in this place. I had to be careful. Rogues were also in this place.
