Elena's POV
My mouth hung opened as I stepped into the main room, passing through the door which was opened so widely. "And I thought Layla's house was huge." Being a con artist had its perks. I could see different beautiful mansions, houses that cost millions of dollars and maybe, if I played my cards well enough, stay for the night. But never had I seen a house as big as this one. Like hell! This house was huge!!! Actually, I saw the house when I was like 20 miles away from the place, but my eyes didn't linger. I had no idea it was the place I was heading to. But then again, what was I expecting? From everything Layla told me about this Reynolds family, this was practically nothing. I had just finished dressing when Noah called me. He said he was having someone pick me up to his house and asked for my address. And yes, as expected I panicked. I couldn't just tell him the address of an hotel, that was degrading! His real fiancee would definitely not be staying at a hotel. For them to even have an arranged marriage it meant even his family knew the lady's family was rich. Immediately I called him back because it turns out, it was an habit for him to just end the call as soon as he was done saying everything he wanted to. I called him back, gave a flimsy excuse about not being at home right now; which was actually quite true, and told him that I would find my way. Then I called up Layla and asked her to lend me one of her cars, one of the ones her dad was trying to use to get on her side. Thankfully I could drive, so the rest was just smooth, well that was until I arrived. "Bro, I just..." A young lady was coming down from the stairs but as soon as she saw me, she paused, her gaze became wary and sharp. "Who the fuck is this?" She spat coldly glaring at me. I blinked twice taken back by her tone. Rich people sure had a lot of privileges. She lived her and she was not a made, that I was certain of. Because, all maids in the house; at least the ones I had seen so far had a uniform. Though a bit different but in a way it was the same. But no. This young girl was dressed in a white crop top with shirt black pants. She looked completely at home. "Miss Kaila," one of the guards who escorted me here called calmly walking to stand in front of the girl. Kaila...even the name sounded rich. I mentally nodded as I continued to stare at the lady who was glaring at me. "This is miss Layla," he said pointing at me and I smiled. Yup, that's me. "She is Noah Reynolds, your brother's fiancee." Her brother? I blinked again in surprise. Noah Reynolds had a little sister?! Layla didn't say anything about a little sister. But then again, she wasn't able to find much about the Reynolds family on the net, they were a private family. He had a sister, that was not planned. But then again, which part of this entire con was planned. I had been winging it since the second time I met the guy, why not just continue. Forcing a smile to my lips, I stretched out my hand to the young girl. "Hello, nice to meet you." I said with the most sweetest voice I could muster. Kaila eyes dropped to look at my hand and then back to my face the look of disgust etched on her face. She didn't look so pleased. I mentally rolled my eyes keeping my fake smile on my face. It was obvious the girl was spoilt. One red flag. One thing I hated the most waa spoilt children. I hardly ever picked a target who had a spoilt sibling or child because...well because no matter now much I tried, I couldn't relate to them. I had never been spoilt in my entire life. Everything I had I worked for it. I had never been pet by a parent, never been given stuff I didn't deserve. Even stuff I deserved I had to fight for it so. My hand was getting sore, and so was my face but I didn't dare just retract the hand, at least not until she said something. She was about opening her mouth to speak when a familiar voice spoke first. "Is she here y..." My eyes left Kaila and towards her left. There he was, my Mr. Mysterious, how wasn't so mysterious anymore. He had one a fitted button down shirt with the first two buttons left undone and pants. Was this how he dressed at home? I raised a brow at his dressing but as soon as I noticed that he was looking at me, I returned my face back to normal. But his sister seemed not to be pleased with it. "Brother, Larson just told me that this was your fiancee," she said to Noah eyeing me, but the man looked like he wasn't listening...just the response I wanted. Inwardly I smirked. Last night before he ended the call, he told me to dress well, so...I did. I wore a tightly fitted black dress which stopped around my mid thigh. I adorned it with long black heels and then tied my hair up into a ponytail. My face...well, let's just say it was way different from the way he saw it yesterday. My lipstick was a mixture of red and black and I also added a black eye pencil. In short, I lookes stupidly hot and my did he notice. "Brother!" Kaila yellwd snapping Noah back to reality. My lips couldn't help but form an actual smirk on my lips. His reaction was priceless. I knew I was hot because I checked the mirror before coming, and his guards who looked so well trained couldn't take their eyes away from me but I wanted to know what Noah thought. But after this, I needed no words. "What Kaila?" Noah answered after he found his voice. "She is my fiancee, what's wrong with it?" He asked sounding tired of the conversation already. Kaila blinked as if she had just heard the most absurd thing. Raising her hand to point at me and her voice she began "How can you..." But Noah raised his hand up shutting her up. Good. Because I knew she was about to say something pretty insulating to me, and I didn't do well with insults. "Not now Kaila. I'm going out." What? He was going out? My brows knitted together in confusion. Noah noticed my confusion and raised a brow. "Didn't you read the text message I sent to you?" He asked and I shook my head. I left my phone in the car. Sighing he spoke. "There have been a change of plans, we are going out." Oh... Ok. I nodded I'm acceptance. But one person didn't look so happy. Kaila face contorted in anger. "Brother how can you just talk to her as if I'm not here? Where would you even go with..." "Enough Kaila." Noah stopped her. And right on time because if he didn't, I would. "We'll talk about this later." He said fixing the hem of his shirt before he returned his gaze back to me. "Let's go." Noah walked past me, and without waiting for him to say it again, I followed him quietly at the back. He kept moving until he reached the garage. I couldn't open my mouth anymore wider, really. He had cars that I thought didn't even exist! He hoped into the driver's seat of one of them, and I just stood there. He couldn't even open the door for me. Tsk tsk 'Get yourself together Elena,' I whispered to myself. Taking a deep breath, I opened the back door and was prepared to seat when Noah, his voice was cold; normal. "I'm not your driver." I blinked. It took me a second to understand what he meant, but thankfully for me I did. Embarrassed, I closed the door and opened the door of the passenger seat in the front. I was sitting next to him now, wow. ... "Where are we going?" Noah asked after we had successfully left the outskirts of his mansion. What? How was I supposed to know that? Wasn't he the one who called me? "Em...I don't understand" I said truthfully. Noah turned his gaze away from the road to me. "What don't you understand?" "Didn't your parents tell you that we are supposed to go on three dates together before I can decide if I want to marry you?" He asked as if I was supposed to know. Was I supposed to know? Maybe I was. I just stared back at him as if he has just said the most craziest thing. "I was told that you and your parents are not on talking terms, I didn't know it was bad enough for them to lie to me." He said returning his gaze back to the road. His voice turned even colder as he towards his last sentence. Oh. That's why I haven't been caught. The real fiancee wasn't even on talking terms with her parents! A light bulb appeared on my head, I could use this. I shook my head. "No, it's not that. They told me it's just, I kind of forgot. Plus as you said we really aren't on talking terms so..." Please God, don't ever let them start talking again, at least until I'm done. Noah took a few seconds, but he nodded as he took a turn. "Alright. I made a reservation at a restaurant anyways." He had an alternative yet he asked me, was this man already suspicious of me?Elena's POV We sat across from each other in the fancy restaurant, he just arrived there so the waiter had yet to attend to us, only the customary wine...which looked really expensive by the way, was on the table, but I felt uncomfortable. Seriously, something in me told me not to dress like this. It was too...well, too opened. But no, my pride refused to let me be. Noah had diminished my looks not just once, but twice! The first time in Diamonds when he even went as far as using a handkerchief to clean his hands after I held on to them, while the second was at the club. I just had to change the impression I made on the guy to something much, much different, and I was sure with this dressing that I did, but it turns out I didn't only change his impression of me. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, the lady's eyes went to Noah while the men, well, me. Normally I would bask in the attention they were giving me, but not today. Instead, I felt nervous... Like me, Elena... Nerv
Elena's POVHe caught me staring.I blinked, lips stretching into a smile...too late to look away now. Besides, if I wanted him to like me, why not let him see I liked him first?Noah raised an eyebrow, his voice low with amusement. “Why are you staring at me?”My smile widened. “Because you’re really handsome.”Yup. I actually said that. Out loud. In front of him and not just in my head. I was getting pretty bold. But I wasn’t lying; he was breathtaking. Noah’s face flushed slightly with a light shade of pink, and he let out a cough, his gaze flicking back to the screen.Fuck, was he...blushing?I could have let out a high squeal in joy. Noah Reynolds was blushing! God. He looked even hotter blushing.I propped my chin on my palm, still watching him. Was he even aware of how perfect his face was? People in my line of business spend hours, or even days to make their faces like this; perfect, to attract other rich people But he just got it for free. Good genes perhaps. “Stop sta
Elena's POV "It's not funny, stop laughing," I said with a giggle as we walked around. Surprisingly, Noah had been an amazing company. He wasn't cold or terrifying like I thought him to be like he was supposed to be. Instead, he was, he was funny... And just fun. I had thought I dug my grave when I said walk and talk, but he was the one mostly doing the talking while I listened. For a second, just a second... I felt bad. I felt bad that I was doing this to someone like him, but... Then the feeling of guilt disappeared. I had to do this. If not for myself, but to regain my name which I lost 3 years ago. All I needed was for him to fall completely for me, and I mean completely...then I'd ask him for a terrible amount of money, lie that it's for a cause or something, and once he gives me, I'll vanish away from his life. Yeah... that's what I'll do. We decided to take a rest by the park,
Elena’s POVNoah just arrived like a knight in shining armor…Only, he wasn’t wearing armor, and he didn’t have a sword. But the way he walked towards me; shoulders squared, eyes burning cold...he might as well have stepped out of an action movie.I’d already stopped struggling. The men holding me turned to look at him too, tension slicing through the air like a blade.“I said, let her go,” he repeated, his voice sharp and cold enough to make the temperature drop a few degrees, and it did. The men exchanged glances, then looked back at Noah. It was clear they didn’t know who he was.“…And what if we say no?” the gruff one asked, stepping forward like he ruled the damn jungle. He let go of me just to puff his chest and face Noah like a cartoon villain. They were the same height, but the guy was bulkier. Bigger.Stronger? Elena’s POVThe car ride was short, thankfully. But not the good kind of thankful, more like the awkward silence kind. Neither of us spoke. Not a word. Not even a fake cough to fill the space. It was even quieter than the ride to the restaurant earlier… and that was already graveyard-level silence."And this is my stop," I finally said, my voice sounding louder than expected in the stillness of the car.Noah’s sleek black car rolled to a stop in front of Layla’s massive building. He looked up at the tall house like he was analyzing its architecture before turning his gaze back to me with a small nod."At least your place is reasonable," he said.I wasn’t sure if that was a compliment or a lowkey insult, so I just smiled. It wasn’t my place anyway, so…I stepped out, stretching just a bit too dramatically and scrunching my face like I had cramps. “Fucking fuck,” I groaned, then turned back to face him, placing a smile on my lips again. He had already gotten out of the car. Gentleman m
Elena’s POVThe bright rays of the sun slipped through the curtains and stabbed me right in the eyes.I groaned. There went my sleep. After the rollercoaster of a night I had with Noah yesterday, I ended up crashing on Layla’s couch. I didn’t want to wake up; not yet. Maybe because the dream I was having was just that good.In it, I was back at the movie theater with Noah. The way his eyes lingered on me… it felt so right. We were leaning closer to each other, slowly, breathlessly...And then boom. That annoying manager popped up out of nowhere like a jump scare and ruined the moment. A blinding light followed, and just like that, I woke up… still on Layla’s couch.I blew a strand of hair away from my face with an irritated huff and sat up, stretching out my stiff limbs.“I should’ve known even my dreams couldn’t give me a win.”That stupid manager’s face was already etched into my memory. But seriously...how did Noah not see him lurking there like a creep? Or… did he? Did he let it h
Elena's POV My eyes scanned the room, searching not for something but someone; my next target. I was at Diamond's Bar, the most exclusive spot in the country where men of all calibers and races came to unwind. Among the sea of opulence, I was looking for more than just anyone. The place was filled with wealthy patrons, walking ATMs as I saw them. But tonight, I had my sights set on a specific individual. Turning slightly, I examined the crowd. To the far left on the stage was Adam Richmond, a fifty-five-year-old billionaire with two married daughters, indulging in an unseemly dance with a stripper. “Shameless,” I muttered under my breath. Richmond’s behavior was disgraceful, his actions more befitting a man half his age. “Not this one,” I decided. He’d be too easy, and I wasn’t looking for an easy mark. I needed someone more... elusive. My gaze shifted to another man, dressed in a dark blue suit, seated alone and observing the room with the same intensity I had. The bright lig
Elena's POV I blinked slowly, my jaw dropping in disbelief. I had expected Mr. Mysterious to be handsome, but nothing prepared me for this. The man before me was nothing short of godlike. He was tall...easily over six feet, with muscles that strained against his tight black designer shirt. His hair was a striking shade of black, brushed back with a few stray strands falling onto his forehead. His deep black eyes radiated a cold, intimidating presence. He looked like Superman come to life, but just a lot more handsome. My heart fluttered just at the sight of him. “I said, let her go,” he repeated, his voice icy and commanding. ‘Get yourself together, Elena. He’s just a man,’ I told myself, though he was undeniably stunning. I shook off my daze, pulling my hands free from the bearded man’s grasp. “He said let me go, you idiot.” The bearded man looked utterly shocked. Then, to my astonishment, he dropped to his knees and bowed, banging his head on the floor with a resounding thud

Worse come to worse, you'll ditch the guy and leave the country again this for a few years for him to calm down." I smiled, nodding my head. "Or better, I could make him fall in love with me, and he would just forgive me."Layla raised one of her brows at me and I giggled. "Okay, making him fall in love with me is too big of a deal...but trust me when I say this, after I leave it would be hard for Noah Reynolds to forget me."This was going to be one of my biggest jobs yet, and I was going to pull it off like I always did. Nothing was going to stop me. Layla and I chatted for a few more hours, catching up with each other on things we missed in each other's lives and before I knew it, it was past 9.I needed to go back to the hotel I was lodged at. "Why common? You can just stay here, this house is big enough for both
Elena's POV Layla suddenly coughed shaking her head. "No I don't...but I've heard that name a couple of times." I wanted to think about what she said... but it could true, so I dismissed it. Leaning closer towards her I asked. "So..." It took a second before she understood and she shook her head. Standing up she said. "Give me a second." Then she turned around and began walking up the stairs. "Aish...she didn't even offer me a drink." I thought out loud after I looked at the table beside me to see nothing there. Standing up I walked towards the kitchen...or where I thought was the kitchen. "Yes! It's the kitchen." I exclaimed in excitement. I took a cup and opened the fridge picking a bottle of water before returning back to the sitting room to find Layla already sitting there with a laptop in her hand. "Really? You couldn't even offer me a drink." "Yeah because you are not a stranger in this house." She said, calming clicking away on her laptop. Not a stranger???"This is
