Elena's POV
We sat across from each other in the fancy restaurant, he just arrived there so the waiter had yet to attend to us, only the customary wine...which looked really expensive by the way, was on the table, but I felt uncomfortable. Seriously, something in me told me not to dress like this. It was too...well, too opened. But no, my pride refused to let me be. Noah had diminished my looks not just once, but twice! The first time in Diamonds when he even went as far as using a handkerchief to clean his hands after I held on to them, while the second was at the club. I just had to change the impression I made on the guy to something much, much different, and I was sure with this dressing that I did, but it turns out I didn't only change his impression of me. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, the lady's eyes went to Noah while the men, well, me. Normally I would bask in the attention they were giving me, but not today. Instead, I felt nervous... Like me, Elena... Nervous! Maybe it was the fact that I was in such a huge 5-star rated restaurant. It was rare for targets to take me out on dates in restaurants, especially really good ones like this. Thankfully, Noah had reserved a different section in the restaurant for us...he reserved the entire section. Which should have made things better, but it didn't because I was seated right in front of the hottest guy I had ever seen who was not on a magazine cover; how was I sure he wasn't? But, it was just us. "Why do you look so uncomfortable?" Noah asked taking a sip of the wine. Maybe because I was? I shrugged also picking up my glass. "I don't know. Maybe because I didn't think you were going to bring me to a restaurant." Noah raised a brow at me as he dropped his glass. "Where else did you think I was going to bring you on a first date?" I shrugged again. "I don't know, to the movies or something." What did I just say? I had forgotten that rich people didn't do movies. "Movies?" Noah raised a brow at me. I blinked rolling my eyes. "Yeah you know, something different." What was I even saying? But Noah didn't seem to have a problem with it, he even encouraged me. Leaning in the guy whispered. "How about we do this after we're done here... You take the lead. We'll go wherever you want to go, and you pay." What? I moved back. I'll pay? But I didn't have money on me. But then again, I wanted him to fall for me, doing this could make that happen. "Alright then." I nodded, picking up my glass, which I had dropped at a time. Where would I take him? Where would we go? I had no idea. All I knew was that wherever we were going had to be memorable, if not for me for him. I did a bit more research about Noah Reynolds after his call yesterday. Not only was he a cold billionaire who so happens to have OCD and dislikes women...he had also never had a real girlfriend...ever. He only dated random models but it was for just the sex. If I wanted to really win this, I had to make him fall for me. My lips stretched into another smile; thankfully, a waiter appeared at our table, blocking Noah's eyes from mine. I wasn't even worried about falling for him; it was impossible. I was a professional. There was never a time when u weren't; there also wasn't a person who didn't fall for me when I wanted them to...okay, maybe except one. But that person was a detective and I made a great mistake of targeting him. Thankfully, he never found me. Because just as how I was good at barging into people's lives, I was also pretty good at disappearing from them when I wanted. I leaned back in my chair, crossing my legs as the waiter handed us the menus. Noah barely acknowledged him, flipping through the options with an air of boredom. Meanwhile, I kept sneaking glances at him, trying to figure out if my plan was working. "So," I started, tapping my fingers against my glass. "Do you always take your dates to fancy restaurants like this?" Noah barely looked up. He had picked up his phone and was now scrolling through it. "I don't take women on dates." I nearly choked on my wine. "Excuse me?" I said with a cough. What? What about those models? So it was just straight to the hotel room? Wow. "I don't do dates," Noah said simply, looking at me for a brief second."This is a favor." A favor? Who was he favoring? Me? Layla's family? Who? I narrowed my eyes. "Oh, so you're doing me a favor now?" He shrugged, leaning back, completely putting his phone aside now to face me. "Your family needs this...well this 'arrangement' more than mine. Although they are wealthy, no offenses but your family still can't match mine." "This is only happening because your grandfather happens to know mine...so this a favor for your family." What? I clenched my jaw, forcing a sweet smile. "Wow, how romantic." Why would a person even want to date such a narcissistic person? I groaned inwardly. 'Well, for starters, he's handsome, then he is dangerously rich...what are you thinking, Elena? He is your type of man.' my subconscious scolded me. He was exactly the type of guy I would date. I sighed, setting my menu down. "Well, this favor of yours is far from over. You agreed to let me choose what we do next, remember?" He arched a brow. "You were serious about that?" "Dead serious," I said, matching his smirk. I was bound to make him fall for me. The waiter returned, and we ordered our food; though I barely tasted any of mine. The entire dinner felt like a game of silent challenges. Noah was cold, blunt, and effortlessly arrogant, but that only made me more determined. Finally, as we finished up, I wiped my lips with the napkin and pushed my chair back. "Alright, rich boy. Time to step out of your comfort zone." Yes...I was supposed to be pretending to be a rich heiress of some sort, but...I needed Noah's attention, his full attention. What better way to make a guy fall for you than to make him try something he has never done before? And what I had in mind was indeed something he had never done before. Noah sighed but stood anyway. "This should be interesting." .... At the Movie Theater The moment we stepped inside, I knew this was a mistake. Noah looked entirely out of place, standing stiffly in his expensive suit while the scent of buttered popcorn and artificial cheese filled the air. The place was packed, teenagers laughing too loudly, couples whispering in hushed voices, and one guy arguing with the ticket seller over a discount. Noah took one look around and exhaled sharply. "This is chaos." I squeezed my eyes shut and groaned. I thought it was going to be more romantic. Whatever, we were already here...why not just make the most of it. I forced a grin to my lips as I looked at Noah. "Welcome to the real world." He gave me an unimpressed look. "And this is supposed to impress me how?" "You're not supposed to be impressed," I said, dragging him toward the concession stand. "You're supposed to experience something normal for once." Noah eyed the candy display like it was a health hazard. "What exactly do people even eat here?" I rolled my eyes, ordering a large popcorn and a soda. "Here, rich boy. Try some." "Why do you keep calling me rich boy? I could equally call you rich girl, too." Noah said taking his gaze off the snacks and looking at me. No, you can't. He couldn't call me a rich girl because I wasn't. "Sorry, habit I guess." I chuckled nervously. I somehow felt a little under his gaze, and I hated it. "Have some," I said pushing the popcorn towards him. Noah looked down at the popcorn and then at me. He hesitated before plucking a single piece of popcorn from the tub. He studied it, then, with the same level of caution as someone handling an explosive, popped it into his mouth. I watched, waiting for his reaction. He chewed slowly. Then swallowed. "Not terrible," he admitted. I gasped dramatically. "High praise from the great Noah Reynolds." He shot me a dry look. "Don’t get used to it." He was funny. Better than I expected. With snacks in hand, we made our way into the theater. Of course, I picked the most cliché movie I could find; a rom-com with over-the-top dramatic scenes. Noah didn’t even bother hiding his disapproval. "You brought me to watch this?" I smirked, taking my seat. "Yep. Now sit down and enjoy." I needed a lovey-dovey movie that was going to stick in his head for a very long time. He sighed, but sat next to me, long legs stretching out as he crossed his arms. The movie started, and I could already tell he was uncomfortable. Every time a ridiculous romantic moment happened, he stiffened. At one point, when the main couple got caught in the rain and dramatically confessed their love, I heard him mutter under his breath, "Unbelievable." I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing. The funniest part? Despite all his complaining, Noah never once got up to leave. I turned my gaze towards him. He seemed engrossed in the movie; they were at a part where both main leads separated due to a misunderstanding. I couldn't stop myself from looking at his face. His eyebrows were perfectly carved, down to his flawless pointed nose, to his lips... Everything about him was perfect. I felt as if time stopped as I stared at his face. Wasn't this supposed to be the other way around? Suddenly he turned to face me. I wasn't fast enough, he caught me staring.Elena's POVHe caught me staring.I blinked, lips stretching into a smile...too late to look away now. Besides, if I wanted him to like me, why not let him see I liked him first?Noah raised an eyebrow, his voice low with amusement. “Why are you staring at me?”My smile widened. “Because you’re really handsome.”Yup. I actually said that. Out loud. In front of him and not just in my head. I was getting pretty bold. But I wasn’t lying; he was breathtaking. Noah’s face flushed slightly with a light shade of pink, and he let out a cough, his gaze flicking back to the screen.Fuck, was he...blushing?I could have let out a high squeal in joy. Noah Reynolds was blushing! God. He looked even hotter blushing.I propped my chin on my palm, still watching him. Was he even aware of how perfect his face was? People in my line of business spend hours, or even days to make their faces like this; perfect, to attract other rich people But he just got it for free. Good genes perhaps. “Stop sta
Elena's POV "It's not funny, stop laughing," I said with a giggle as we walked around. Surprisingly, Noah had been an amazing company. He wasn't cold or terrifying like I thought him to be like he was supposed to be. Instead, he was, he was funny... And just fun. I had thought I dug my grave when I said walk and talk, but he was the one mostly doing the talking while I listened. For a second, just a second... I felt bad. I felt bad that I was doing this to someone like him, but... Then the feeling of guilt disappeared. I had to do this. If not for myself, but to regain my name which I lost 3 years ago. All I needed was for him to fall completely for me, and I mean completely...then I'd ask him for a terrible amount of money, lie that it's for a cause or something, and once he gives me, I'll vanish away from his life. Yeah... that's what I'll do. We decided to take a rest by the park,
Elena’s POVNoah just arrived like a knight in shining armor…Only, he wasn’t wearing armor, and he didn’t have a sword. But the way he walked towards me; shoulders squared, eyes burning cold...he might as well have stepped out of an action movie.I’d already stopped struggling. The men holding me turned to look at him too, tension slicing through the air like a blade.“I said, let her go,” he repeated, his voice sharp and cold enough to make the temperature drop a few degrees, and it did. The men exchanged glances, then looked back at Noah. It was clear they didn’t know who he was.“…And what if we say no?” the gruff one asked, stepping forward like he ruled the damn jungle. He let go of me just to puff his chest and face Noah like a cartoon villain. They were the same height, but the guy was bulkier. Bigger.Stronger? Oh God please no.My heart wasn’t pounding for myself anymore...it was for Noah.He was rich. Polished. Elegant. What the hell did he know about fighting on the streets
Elena’s POVThe car ride was short, thankfully. But not the good kind of thankful, more like the awkward silence kind. Neither of us spoke. Not a word. Not even a fake cough to fill the space. It was even quieter than the ride to the restaurant earlier… and that was already graveyard-level silence."And this is my stop," I finally said, my voice sounding louder than expected in the stillness of the car.Noah’s sleek black car rolled to a stop in front of Layla’s massive building. He looked up at the tall house like he was analyzing its architecture before turning his gaze back to me with a small nod."At least your place is reasonable," he said.I wasn’t sure if that was a compliment or a lowkey insult, so I just smiled. It wasn’t my place anyway, so…I stepped out, stretching just a bit too dramatically and scrunching my face like I had cramps. “Fucking fuck,” I groaned, then turned back to face him, placing a smile on my lips again. He had already gotten out of the car. Gentleman m
Elena’s POVThe bright rays of the sun slipped through the curtains and stabbed me right in the eyes.I groaned. There went my sleep. After the rollercoaster of a night I had with Noah yesterday, I ended up crashing on Layla’s couch. I didn’t want to wake up; not yet. Maybe because the dream I was having was just that good.In it, I was back at the movie theater with Noah. The way his eyes lingered on me… it felt so right. We were leaning closer to each other, slowly, breathlessly...And then boom. That annoying manager popped up out of nowhere like a jump scare and ruined the moment. A blinding light followed, and just like that, I woke up… still on Layla’s couch.I blew a strand of hair away from my face with an irritated huff and sat up, stretching out my stiff limbs.“I should’ve known even my dreams couldn’t give me a win.”That stupid manager’s face was already etched into my memory. But seriously...how did Noah not see him lurking there like a creep? Or… did he? Did he let it h
Elena's POV My eyes scanned the room, searching not for something but someone; my next target. I was at Diamond's Bar, the most exclusive spot in the country where men of all calibers and races came to unwind. Among the sea of opulence, I was looking for more than just anyone. The place was filled with wealthy patrons, walking ATMs as I saw them. But tonight, I had my sights set on a specific individual. Turning slightly, I examined the crowd. To the far left on the stage was Adam Richmond, a fifty-five-year-old billionaire with two married daughters, indulging in an unseemly dance with a stripper. “Shameless,” I muttered under my breath. Richmond’s behavior was disgraceful, his actions more befitting a man half his age. “Not this one,” I decided. He’d be too easy, and I wasn’t looking for an easy mark. I needed someone more... elusive. My gaze shifted to another man, dressed in a dark blue suit, seated alone and observing the room with the same intensity I had. The bright lig
Elena's POV I blinked slowly, my jaw dropping in disbelief. I had expected Mr. Mysterious to be handsome, but nothing prepared me for this. The man before me was nothing short of godlike. He was tall...easily over six feet, with muscles that strained against his tight black designer shirt. His hair was a striking shade of black, brushed back with a few stray strands falling onto his forehead. His deep black eyes radiated a cold, intimidating presence. He looked like Superman come to life, but just a lot more handsome. My heart fluttered just at the sight of him. “I said, let her go,” he repeated, his voice icy and commanding. ‘Get yourself together, Elena. He’s just a man,’ I told myself, though he was undeniably stunning. I shook off my daze, pulling my hands free from the bearded man’s grasp. “He said let me go, you idiot.” The bearded man looked utterly shocked. Then, to my astonishment, he dropped to his knees and bowed, banging his head on the floor with a resounding thud
Noah's POV A Few Hours Ago He was gone again. How could he leave without any of my men noticing? He was a 70-year-old man, for crying out loud! “Find him, goddammit!” I cursed, grinding my teeth. Where could he have gone this time? The two men beside me nodded and left the bar to search for my grandfather once more. That demented old man had been a thorn in my side for months. Now he’d taken to vanishing, leaving me frantic and worried. “Boss, Old Master Reynolds can take care of himself. He’ll be fine,” Joshua, my personal bodyguard, said calmly. I snorted, shaking my head. A few years ago, I might have believed him. But not now. Not with my grandfather’s dementia worsening. He did foolish things and said nonsensical things. He might be the death of me one day. And it was all because of that one person that left a permanent scare in his life few years ago. “I swear I’ll find the bastard who did this to him and make them pay,” I vowed menacingly, a fierce glint in my eye

Elena's POV My mouth hung opened as I stepped into the main room, passing through the door which was opened so widely. "And I thought Layla's house was huge." Being a con artist had its perks. I could see different beautiful mansions, houses that cost millions of dollars and maybe, if I played my cards well enough, stay for the night. But never had I seen a house as big as this one. Like hell! This house was huge!!! Actually, I saw the house when I was like 20 miles away from the place, but my eyes didn't linger. I had no idea it was the place I was heading to. But then again, what was I expecting? From everything Layla told me about this Reynolds family, this was practically nothing. I had just finished dressing when Noah called me. He said he was having someone pick me up to his house and asked for my address. And yes, as expected I panicked.I couldn't just tell him the address of an hotel, that was degrading! His real fiancee would definitely not be staying at a hotel. F
Elena's POV "If you were to ask me, there are many ways, many reasons I think this wouldn't work. But..." Layla stopped to shrug. "How bad can the consequences be? Worse come to worse, you'll ditch the guy and leave the country again this for a few years for him to calm down." I smiled, nodding my head. "Or better, I could make him fall in love with me, and he would just forgive me."Layla raised one of her brows at me and I giggled. "Okay, making him fall in love with me is too big of a deal...but trust me when I say this, after I leave it would be hard for Noah Reynolds to forget me."This was going to be one of my biggest jobs yet, and I was going to pull it off like I always did. Nothing was going to stop me. Layla and I chatted for a few more hours, catching up with each other on things we missed in each other's lives and before I knew it, it was past 9.I needed to go back to the hotel I was lodged at. "Why common? You can just stay here, this house is big enough for both
Elena's POV Layla suddenly coughed shaking her head. "No I don't...but I've heard that name a couple of times." I wanted to think about what she said... but it could true, so I dismissed it. Leaning closer towards her I asked. "So..." It took a second before she understood and she shook her head. Standing up she said. "Give me a second." Then she turned around and began walking up the stairs. "Aish...she didn't even offer me a drink." I thought out loud after I looked at the table beside me to see nothing there. Standing up I walked towards the kitchen...or where I thought was the kitchen. "Yes! It's the kitchen." I exclaimed in excitement. I took a cup and opened the fridge picking a bottle of water before returning back to the sitting room to find Layla already sitting there with a laptop in her hand. "Really? You couldn't even offer me a drink." "Yeah because you are not a stranger in this house." She said, calming clicking away on her laptop. Not a stranger???"This is
