Apologize To My Son

The day went by fast as usual as I headed back home very tired. Vince was already home and ran to give me an embrace upon my arrival. Of everything in this house, this was the only person that gave me solace.

"How are you, baby?” I asked him as I threw lots of kisses on his face making him giggle.

"I'm not a baby anymore, mommy. I'll be turning five soon," He said with a pout.

I laughed at him. He must have learnt that with his friends.

"If you are not a baby, what then are you?" I asked him, smiling.

" I'm a big man mommy and I'm here to protect you," he said firmly.

He even showed me his arm, that he was growing muscles and I couldn't help burst into laughter.

I noticed someone's shadow and I raised my head only to see Rachel scowling at me. I was honestly not in the mood for her attitude this evening, so I ignored her presence.

But not Vince.

"Momma, that aunty looks scary. Why does dad keep her in the house?" He asked, pointing at Rachel.
