A Little Secret

Violet 's POV

I sat among everyone deciding whether I was ready to do this. I felt my hands sweaty from being too anxious and I had to take deep breaths to calm myself down.

This was one of the things I hated, I didn’t like to address people. This was one of the reasons why this position was not right for me. I can barely speak in the presence of a lot of people, it was not just my thing.

I knew Charles was very capable. He was outspoken and capable. Besides this was what he had always wanted.

“Good morning ma'am,” they greeted as they all walked in.

I wasn’t used to this but I tried, I liked to be free. I wanted to be free. Maybe I could tell them not to address me as ma’am.

“Good morning everyone. As you must know I am the heir of the Shakesmen property.” I said, introducing myself.
