Almyra's POV,

I looked back in anger. I was shocked to see who it was. “Isabella!?”

“Funny how you remember my face and not my voice.” She spread open her arms and approached her with a warm smile on my face and I hugged her.

“If I saw you earlier, I guess I would have remembered your voice.” I said in a sweet tone.

“Well, you have done so now.” We both pulled back from each other and she still had the bright smile on her face.

“Yeah, sure,” I paused. “And it's very surprising seeing you here, I mean you once said you would be studying Pilot.”

Isabella chuckled. “Yeah, well things change from time to time you should know that,” her face was smooth and serene.

My face lit up with comprehension.“Yeah, they sure do.”

“That's just it,” she cracked her knuckles. “And I guess this is just the perfect place for me to be.” She scanned through the room and smiled.

“It's the perfect place of course, you're in a gathering like this what does that look like to you?” My face w

Isabella raised up her hand earlier on to ask a question?"Let's what she has to say anyway." Hannah held my hand and we both entered into the conference room like everything was alright."Sure, yeah it might be a good one actually." I replied to her almost immediately with a grin."It sure would, Isabella has always been great at questions you know." Hannah had a promising look on her face."Okay, then I guess I would look forward to it then." I sat down on my seat and a sigh of relief escaped my nostrils."Yeah, trust me." Almyra's POV, I tried remembering his face harder but it was not possible, I knew he was not someone I know. The man stood close to Gina but Gija could not look at the eyes of the man standing close to her. Gina tried speak but as she tried to do that the man slapped her on the face twice. Gina just stood there, defenseless against this man he was one with good physique. I picked up my phone and dialed the cops number before walking out of the car to approach them. It was about thirty seconds walk from where I parked my car. As I walked towards her I heard another slap from where they were and Gina could only cry in silence. Was her life in the hands of the man? Because this coward in which calls himself a man has no right to lay his hand on her. Considering the things in which Gina did to me in the past I would not have helped her but I guess I just have to put everything behind me and give my help to those who needed it. "Hey dude!" I yelled at the top of my voice as I approa

Almyra's POV, "Is…is he dead!?" I yelled on top of my voice, I could hear my voice breaking. Gina sniffled and stuttered as she tried to pick her words. "Xavier has…Xavier has set a boundary between him and every of his relatives several months ago, even his location is hardly known since he comes home once in a blue moon." I saw the look on Gina's face and I knew she was definitely not in the mood for talks, if she needed anything badly it's sleep. A sigh of relief escaped my lips. "Well, he's not dead." I muttered under my breath. "No, he's not," Gina halted. "Did you think he was?" With a narrow gaze I scoffed. "No why would I think about that? You need to sleep Gina." Gina nodded her head slowly. "Yes, I want to but I could not ask you." "I told you to forget about all that's happened in the past years and focus on the presence okay?" I sighed frustratingly. "I'm sorry about that." Gina's voice was embedded in emotion. "No it's fine actually. I'm not pissed." I rose u

Almyra's POV, I walked out of the kitchen after preparing the coffee for Gina and I. As I walked into the living room, Gina looked up at me with a hint of gratitude in her eyes. I handed her a steaming cup of coffee, and she took a sip, closing her eyes in appreciation. "Thank you, Almyra," she said softly. I smiled and sat down beside her, cradling my own cup in my hands. The warmth of the coffee spread through my fingers, comforting me. My eyes widened as I processed the information. "I had no idea Kitara would still try to cling to Xavier despite his current state." "I know," Gina said, frustration creeping into her voice. "And it's like Xavier's given up. He's shutting everyone out." Gina's expression softened. "We need to help him, Almyra." I nodded resolutely. "I'll find a way to reach him. But first, we need to focus on getting you out of this toxic relationship." Gina's eyes dropped, shame washing over her face. "I'm so sorry, Almyra. I should have—" "Stop," I interru

Almyra's POV, I walked towards the door slowly, I told Gina to hide behind the couch in which she did without hesitating. "Who's there?" I tried sounding tough but I saw my legs shivering. "It's me." The voice was a male voice, but it was not loud like that of Gina's boyfriend. Who knows if he actually tried to sound cool. "Walk towards the camera." I heard footsteps approaching the door and it stopped all of a sudden. "I'm there already." I opened the door and collected the pizza from him. "Here's your pay." The delivery guy smiled and took the payment. "Thank you, ma'am. Enjoy your pizza." As I closed the door, Gina let out a sigh of relief. "False alarm," I said, chuckling. Gina nodded, her eyes still wide with fear. "I thought it was him." I placed the pizza on the coffee table. "Let's eat and forget about Kitara and your boyfriend for now." Gina smiled weakly. "Sounds good to me." As we sat down to eat, Gina's phone buzzed again. She hesitated before answering. "Blo

Almyra's POV, My thoughts were not settled as I saw Xavier's name, I didn't know if I should call him or just call the police. Xavier would be surprised, or even shocked at me calling me, it was literally fate pushing me towards him. Gina could die if I didn't act fast, I walked out of the door and shut it behind me hurriedly. I dialed Xavier's number and before it rang twice he answered it. "Hey, Gina's in danger and I think she would need your help." Xavier's once calm voice was now coated in anger. "What do you mean by that?" I started the car and drove out of the compound. The soft hum of the engine and Xavier's voice was the only thing in my head at the moment. "Just come to the location I would give you. That's all I can say for now." Xavier spoke with unease. "What do you think you're doing Almyra?" I inhaled sharply. "Gina is in some sort of danger, her boyfriend might hurt her badly." As I drove, the tension between us was palpable. I could sense anger even in th

Almyra's POV, The silence was oppressive, a heavy blanket that suffocated the night. It was as if the world itself was holding its breath, waiting for something to stir. The darkness seemed to vibrate with tension, every sound magnified. A cricket's chirp was a cacophony, a rustling leaf, a deafening roar. The wind held its breath, the trees stood still, and the stars twinkled like ice. In this eerie quiet, every sense was heightened. I strained to hear the slightest sound, my ears straining. A footstep, a whisper, a hint of movement. But there was nothing, just the silence. A silence that seemed to have a life of its own. The soft hum of the engine was a reassuring sound, a steady heartbeat that filled the car. The leather seats creaked softly as I shifted, the gentle scent of worn leather filling the air. The dashboard lights cast a warm glow, illuminating the sleek lines of the car's interior. The steering wheel felt solid in my hands, a comfortable fit that spoke to c

Almyra's POV, "Okay, just ten more seconds before I get there. I'm coming to get you Gina." I muttered under my breath. Xavier's engine was still roaring over the phone, but the both of us were silent. Finally, my car screeched as I pressed the brake. I inhaled sharply and got down from the car hurriedly, shutting it close behind me. I made sure I switched my shoes into a more comfy one as I ran stealthily towards the house in order to keep my presence unknown. My heart pounded in my chest as I approached the house, my senses on high alert. The darkness seemed to swallow everything, making it impossible to see beyond a few feet. I strained my ears to pick up any sound, but the silence was oppressive. Suddenly, a faint noise caught my attention. A muffled cry, that was Gina. I froze, my eyes scanning the surroundings. The cry came from within the house. I crept closer, my shoes making barely a sound on the pavement. The front door was slightly ajar but my instincts screamed wa

ALMYRA'S POV. The breaking news of the day was: Hilda Farell dead after judgment was passed and Kitara Anderson sentenced to life imprisonment. "Whoops," a soft exhale escaped my nostrils as I saw Kitara being moved to a prison. That bastard should be sent to alcatraz instead of this prison. She deserves a mashed potato and not normal food. "Stop." I heard a voice beside me immediately I raised my hand to switch off the television. "Hold on." "I don't think you should be seeing this," I turned to him but he did not spare me a glance "You already told Gina to visit her yesterday and she went already but I was just too busy to go along with her," I held his hand. For the first time, tears rolled down Xavier's cheek as his gaze was set on the television. A picture of a rope used for hanging was shown in Hilda's part and Kitara's part kept replaying. "I still can't believe I did not get to tell her a proper goodbye," Xavier grasped the cloth on the bed tightly

ALMYRA'S POV. I opened the door of Xavier's room and I paused in shock, the room was lit and the curtains were opened, the rays of the sun poured in. "Hey," Xavier winced as he tried sitting up on his bed and Malum rushed towards him to help him up. "So do you still think I'm lying?" Gina's angelic voice could be heard behind me. My mouth was covered with my hands as I kept on gasping in shock, surprise and happiness. "I still can't believe." "Like how? How did it happen?!" I was excited like I had never been before…maybe. Gina pushed me towards him and I made her stop after holding her hand. "Give me a minute." My voice was more of a whisper. "Are you gonna keep me waiting?" Xavier arched an eyebrow and I knew it was still the Xavier I know, the Xavier I loved. "I'm sorry," I dropped my hand down and ran towards Xavier before holding his shoulder and I scanned his body. The spot that he was shot could not be seen since it was bandaged already. I hugged him and he winced

ALMYRA'S POV. Gina walked into the sitting room looking disappointed. "Where were you going to?" I placed my hand on my waist. "At this time of the day." She ran her hand through her hair. "I wanna see my mom." The smile on my face faded immediately I heard what she had just said, I dont think Gina would be fine when Hilda is finally hanged. I'm pretty sure that it would take time for her to accept that her mom's no longer with her or she would not be coming again and she won't get to see her or speak to her again. "Why?" I finally questioned her after she kept on changing the leg that she rested on. I guess she was waiting for my answer.

ALMYRA'S POV. "Are you gonna watch him?" I turned to Malum and he arched an eyebrow. "You do know that she almost killed you right?!" If anyone was asleep, the person would have woken up with the way Malum shouted. I walked slowly to him. "Gina give us a minute please." Gina nodded. "Sure, I would do that." She walked out of the room and shut the door behind her. A loud exhale escaped Malum's nostrils and her placed his hand on his waist. "Almyra you can't talk me out of this." "What if I want to go?" I crossed my hand above my chest and did not even mind the hairs that was partially blocking me from seeing Malum clearly. He clenc

This was a time to be very cautious but I let my guard down and look where it landed me in…a fucking piece of shit. I could say a ditch actually. If there's any blessihg or miracle that is supposed to happen in the future, I kept on praying inwardly that it should come now. "You asked me to tell you why I fucking dislike every single thing about you right?" She jolted me out of my thoughts amidst gritted teeth. "I hate your breath also." I was not moved, instead I just smiled and she even looked pained the more. She was desperate to see me lifeless, it won't be long before her long wish comes to pass so she should just enjoy every moment because I'm suffering at every tick of the cloc

Almyra's POV. I opened my eyes but it was still dark and I looked around but I was unable to see a single thing. The veil that was used to cover my head was so black and thick. All I remember was when I got a call from Hilda that she wanted to apologize to me and I can't even believe I thought she actually wanted to apologize. I saw her face immediately I turned back but it was too late for me to even intercept the gun that was sent to my forehead. Ahh! My forehead screamed in pain immediately I remembered how I went unconscious. Hilda has her way of doing things and I could not help but keep questioning myself over and over on why she hates me, but I was fed up already. I won't hesitate to take action from now on. That has to be when I at least escape from this dark place but I can't even see a fucking thing.
