I could not believe my ears and simply stood in an utter daze.

Jason reached out and held my shoulders. I cried in pain because his hand was in contact with the area that had been scalded.

However, he seemed to be worried about another woman. "This is no time to lose your temper, Lauren. Don't you think it'd be cruel to ruin someone else's career?"

I protested, "But didn't you insist on coming here for our honeymoon because you wanted to see Sylvie go crazy?"

Jason grabbed my shoulders as soon as I finished speaking. The pain, both physical and mental, was simply too great.

During the interrogation, I was asked why this location became the destination for our honeymoon. It was a mediocre forest lodge with nothing of particular interest, some unremarkable scenery, and subpar infrastructure.

The decision was Jason's. He rarely went online, but he seemed drawn to a post that was uploaded online and claimed that the patch of forest was an interesting one.

I knew he was tired from work, so
