“Well, I wasn’t home today. You know I went to the supermarket. I haven’t even washed my hands or anything,” Cali said with an apologetic smile. Her expression was laced with worry and guilt, as if doing so was something to really be concerned about.

No one could blame her. After all, due to the Covid virus, people were asked to stay away from each other.

Unsurprisingly, when Mr. Timothy heard that, he froze and frowned. He then looked around and stepped back.

Welcome to the new normal, Cali thought to herself as she suppressed the smile to be let out her face.

She saw Mr. Timothy looking at her with some fear. He then said, “I think it is safer for everyone to check the other apartments by phone. See you later, Cali.”

And with those words, he left as fast as he came. Cali closed the door and sat on the floor—the first day of taking care of the little one and was almost having a heart attack.
