Dane’s POV

After futile attempts to get Garret to see eye to eye with me, we left Amaya’s room. Mai stayed, deciding to give healing Garret with the power of the sun a try. I wanted to stay and watch, intrigued by the Sunfire Packs abilities, but Bennett urged me to leave. We were on a short timer and had already wasted a lot of it. He swiftly helped me pack my belongings with Cruz not asking questions about my pack or where it was. He understood that I could not answer anything he would ask..

Suddenly a howl erupted from the direction of Amaya’s room, and I knew something terrible must have happened to Garret. Bennett beat me to the room, not caring about status' enough to stay behind me. His fatherly instincts were taking over, causing him to burst into the room. Garret was curled into a ball, whimpering, surrounded by Amaya and Mai.
