Chapter 8

MIKHAIL's P. O.V.

The car screeched to a stop, in front of one restaurant that looked almost dead. I got out and looked around the neighborhood where the restaurant is located.The neighborhood doesn't look too appealing. 

“So this restaurant is Leela's workplace" I asked Dean with a bewildered expression.

“Yes sire," he answered, dreading talking further.

“I couldn't believe it. I have to see it for myself.” 

“I'll go in by myself, wait here” I said to Dean who nodded to the instruction.

I took a few steps towards the restaurant, if I wasn't convinced that she was close by before the gradual hotness of my body definitely did the job.

Only my intended mate can make me flame up, it's the mate bond.

With anxiety, I walked into the restaurant and sat at the far corner, To be able to see everyone entering and exiting the building.

I couldn't spot her in the restaurant. But the hotness of my body remains, which means she is still around the building.

A waitress, with glasses approached me, she's probably in the same age gap with Leela.

"Hi and welcome, may I take your order sir,” she asked with flushed cheeks.

I'm used to girls or women reacting like that around me. I'm always the center of attraction anywhere I go.

“One espresso romano" I said with an aloof expression. I'm not really a fan of women, I can't say I hate them but not just a fan.

She left giggling, within minutes she came with the espresso and placed it on my table.

I can't just let her walk away the second time, I have to ask about Leela at least to convince myself that the bond wasn't the cause of the hotness of my body.

"Does Valentina Montane work here?"

She looked at me with a stunned expression, then replied stuttering

“Ye…yes, she does,” she said, still waiting for further questions. When she realized I wasn't going to probe further, she asked.

“Do you want me to send her to you,” 

“Yes” I replied trying to hide my excitement with my aloof expression.

“Okay,” she said, then left.

“Not bad for a shabby restaurant,” I said after sipping the coffee.

 Suddenly, I felt eyes on me, someone was looking in my direction.

I looked up, and my gaze locked with Leela. Her eyes did things to my heart, even if I'm not willing to acknowledge it.

She peeled her gaze almost immediately, like she had done something she wasn't supposed to. 

Looking at her from up close, I realized that she has gotten thinner, but her beauty radiates nevertheless. The thing she did to her hair, doesn't stop the beam that emits from her.

“How can I help you,” my thoughts were interrupted by an icy almost robotic voice?

I looked up, and my view was covered with Leela figure. Damn she is beautiful, I've been dreaming of this moment.

"Yes. Leela let's talk" 

Her eyes constricted, and a frown appeared on her face, then she replied, "I go by the name Valentina, and I'm pretty busy, so come some other time.” She said then left the table hastily without sparing me a glance.

“I deserve that,”

She has really changed, from that naive teenager to a cold woman, making her more attractive.

I watched her from a distance, I just couldn't stop staring. She got back to her counter and continued her work, she literally ignored me, the Alpha.

I smirked, “this will be interesting,” I guess I'll be the one doing the pursuing this time.

Done with my café, I stood up and left. I'm definitely going to come back today, probably in her strip club.

Dean met me at the entrance.

“So how did it go,” he asked with obvious curiosity.

“She has bloomed into a cold woman, making her more charming. She deserved to be the Luna, no one else, not even Nakisha!” I said with a playful smirk on my lips.

My phone started ringing, I removed it from my coat. “Speaking of the devil,” I said to myself.

It's Nakisha, my chosen mate. 

I found out that she was the one who turned my pack and my mum against me five years ago. 

She has a rare power that comes with her inner wolf, mind control. She can only do that once every year. 

She wanted the position of Luna so badly, that she has the audacity to turn my pack against me.

"What the hell does she want this time,” 

“Let's go,” I said putting the phone back in my pocket coat. 

After we were all settled in the car, Dean began talking. 

“The hospital you built in London will start operating in full force today.”

“Yeah? That's good to know. Let's visit the oldies then,” I replied with a smile plastered on my face.

The car halted in front of a massive hospital structure, meant for only veterans and elderlies.

This structure meant a lot to me. I have finally fulfilled my promise to someone, that saved me eighteen years ago.

I entered the hospital with high spirits, looking around, the structure is magnificent, just like how I wanted it.

I went to the veterans section, and stopped at a room. "Wait for me outside.” I said to Dean and stepped in.

I entered the room and looked around, the room was impressive, similar to how I wanted it. 

I walked further inside, and I saw someone at the balcony, reading a book so casually.

"Hey Mikhail, "he called out.

I'm not surprised, he knows me more than myself. 

"Mr Raphael chase.” 

I walked up to him at the balcony, his eyes never left the book.

Mr. Raphael is Leela's uncle, he saved me eighteen years ago. 

At that time, he was my father's beta. He saved me from a group sent to kill me by a tyrant king and Alpha named Pilgrim.

Alpha Pilgrim ruled with an iron fists. His brutality caused chaos and calamity In his pack which led to the wrath of the moon goddess. He was cursed by the moon goddess. The prophecy stated that he will be killed by a cub wolf in his pack.

With that, he ordered all his soldiers to kill all the children who could shift. 

Mr. Raphael, with his abilities suppressed my powers, but it caused him to be condemned in a wheelchair.

All the children who were able to shift at that time were killed, except me.

Subsequently, his people went against him, and he was overthrown by my dad, who became the next Alpha.

I sat next to Mr. Raphael on the balcony.

“How have you been, Sir Raphael?”

“As you can see, I'm not dead,” replied, smiling looking at me.

I smirked to his joke and said. “I can make it happen”

“I see you are still the joy killer,” he said laughing.

I smiled at his comment.

“Sir Raphael, my powers are not back. My wolf is still suppressed, going berserk when my emotions are triggered but never out.” I told him.

He looked at me with a surprised expression and said. “I've released my powers suppressing yours a long time ago. Your wolf should be out now.”

I was perplexed, this is not the answer I was expecting, I thought my wolf is still suppressed"

He continued," our wolf abilities should never be suppressed, it's there for a reason. 

I believe that's the reason your wolf is still not coming out. Give it time , your wolf is strong, just like your dads. He was the strongest Alpha in our pack, even more than the overthrown tyrant king Pilgrim." He smiled.

"It will come out when it has a purpose to serve, be rest assured.”

I nodded.

" I'll be on my way, call me if you need anything." I stood up from the chair.

"How's my niece doing,” he asked suddenly.

 I stopped in my tracks, "he definitely kept the best for last," I smirked.

“She's doing well, there is definitely obstinacy in your family's blood.” I replied with a smirk.

He laughed amusingly, and said, "yes there is and this is just the beginning.”

“And I'm not going to lose," I said with determination.

“Let's see how that will turn out,” he said laughing loudly.

I left the room, almost angry." This man knows how to get on my nerves"

Dean walked up to me, 

"Alpha, where should... , His question was interrupted by the loud ringing of my phone again.

“It's undoubtedly Nakisha, she's annoyingly persistent,” I said angrily.

I picked up the phone and answered it.

“Yes?” I asked angrily.

"Hey, It's me Nakisha" she said, feigning a frail voice.

“Go straight to the point, why did you call me?” I asked impatiently.

“Okay, your mum has collapsed, but she is in good shape now.”

“How did it happen?” I asked with concern.

“It just happened, suddenly. The doctor said it's because of stress.”

“Okay,” I said, then I cut the call."

"Dean, let's head back to New Orleans. The former Luna collapsed.”

"I'll be back for you Leela, brace yourself."
