Stirring the herbs in lukewarm water, Lola directed her gaze towards me as she heard a soft mumbling sound.

"Thank the goddess, you've finally woken." She breathed out, my head banged and staring around, everything felt strange. It was unlike her cabin, the herbs that used to be stacked up high on the rooftops were no longer there, and the room was spacious enough that it could accommodate a whole stack of her herbs for two seasons if not more.

"Where are we, what happened?" I questioned as I tried to sit on my derriere, she stared at me, her face twitched into a compelling smile, it could be akin to her profound gratitude.

"You've been down for more than two weeks now. He insisted we take you to the hospital but I made the call to treat you at home." She let out touching my temple with her hands.

"Who is that?" I asked curiously, Andrea's cabin was nothing similar to the place I was laying, not Ramanov, I pinched myself hard enough to have had a taint of crimson forming at the spot.

"You should be grateful you didn't have a miscarriage." Lola's voice echoed through me like a resonance."I'm not sure if I should be happy or not," I replied my eyes swollen from the pool of tears that had soaked them earlier, "Children are blessings from the goddess, and you shouldn't worry and as it seems when two people are fated for one another they begin to have children." Her eyes were hatched onto mine absorbing my every reaction. Her voice had my shoulders tensing."Why shouldn't I, Andrea practically made it obvious he doesn't want me; us." I wanted Lola's kind words to change how I feel about Andrea and the baby I did.It was clear she cared about him and there were times they both were like each other's guardian, only after swallowing bile and fragmented guilt was I able to see there was nothing but enemies, considering the fact she betrayed him. Their relationship was odd. With a little sewing, I was able to move part of my body, it was like it turned into a mist and smo

"Atone?" He questioned mockingly at the word I had used.I ran my hands through my hair as I yanked it into a doughnut. Ramanov took three long breaths through his nose, his mouth still clamped together in anger, he forced his jaw to relax and rubbed his tongue against the roof of his mouth trying to remind himself how he felt when he was at the pathetic look of his life, begging and seeking retribution. His soul yearned for it, it was a deep burn."Just go home and let me be," I said in a low tone. I felt Andrea's rejection in my very bones. I felt a particular kind of pain enter me and crept around my heart and as hatred flooded my body and clouded my eyes I made my decision not to succumb to anything needless.I did not comment, my gaze darted through the half-opened door inside only to see Lola who did not comment and pretended to be sleeping."Didn't you hear me!" "You will freeze to death, come with me, Lucia.""Now see who is caring," I let out a disgusting smirk, "where does

We bragged about the sex, initially, I almost lost hope and decided it was a boy as we were viewing the abdomen but then moving down to the genitals we saw a small opening, it wasn't anything long that looked like a penis, it was then a wide grin formed on my face, "You see I told you it's a girl." Excitement filled the room like we were on a merry. It wouldn't have bothered any of us, as Lola said children are gifts from God and it doesn't matter the gender; boy or girl."The mother already knows the gender so why waste the ultrasound?" She sounded defeated although she was happy, she had agreed with Ramanov because she fancies him if not under normal circumstances she prefers a girl. A girl; would arrange her hair with beads and decorate her room in all pink like the universe.Even though I was about to become a single mum, Jade was busy branching into every doll shop and supermarket getting all the attention she could seek, while I sat on the bench along the walkway with my heavy

Two years had passed and I was living life through thought, but Ramanov had ventured his direction with the Sunju pack, his influence had helped me suffice thus far although I was hollow, "Mummy, where are we going?" I would call her Moon because she brightened the dark shade in my life. After I gave birth to her, Jade was more than happy, it was almost a complicated childbearing because I had starved and deprived myself of vitamins and certain aerobics due to my wallowing in the pain, lost a lot of vitals that we're considered a miracle as I woke after several days. She ran to me, I spent a few minutes throwing her up in the air and making a zoom sound for her, Jade stood there gawking at the both of us, by the time I set him down I was tired and breathing heavily to catch my breath.I looked through the bag for her toy but instead, I picked up a book, Jade let out a loud laugh, it wasn't easy raising the child, first it was the sleepless first there month night with all the crying

"Do we have to?" Ramanov pinched the bridge of his nose. A futile attempt to drive away his looming headache."Yes we do darling," she patted his hand in a motherly fashion before moving out of the packhouse. The incident of me having treated him like a stranger and keeping the truth from him left him broken; my mate, I thought it was easy to spurn a mate bond.He looked through the thick crowd, his hopes vanished fast, the further down the thick pile he went. The locks clicked as she began to scream, shouting my name, I found myself hurrying towards her with all my wits."What happened here?" I asked as I perked around. The pain that swarmed my soul was worse than the physical pain I had experienced consuming every facet of myself until the memories and traits that made me began to drop like water.A second passed and I stood in front of her, she had never felt vulnerable, not that I know. With the slightest nod of my head, the doors were flung open from the stretching that was hamme

"I was at the Greystone house." He said similarly."Did you say Graystone?" I asked almost petrified to my bones starting at jade who was completely clueless as a mull. Gray stone house was close to Moon kindergarten there was no how he would be there without checking up on her."Yes, I said that." He affirmed his jaw let down in awe. When the last thing she thought was to get herself treated we were ahead of her; Jade.Alpha Ramanov want to act, even though there was nothing that could be done. For some reason, Jade raised a hand and waved it off in the air."You shouldn't waste time, let's get off and head out," I said hurriedly.Ramanov splintered but before Jade could catch up with us we were already out of the door.Specks of blame guilt and fear danced within my eyes, I could akin to the both of them only unrelenting fear, I couldn't accept the fact, He smiles pressing his lips together to hide his blood-stained teeth, and the tensed aura we were in."I don't know what to do if

"Hey, I think you guys should come home.""Why are you giving up or you've seen Moon?""The latter." I let out."That's great, we are on our ways but Ramanov just left here angrily, I don't know where he is going but I don't have a good energy about it.""You should call him, he might have gone after him."***"I'm not sure if I would be happy seeing him or not." I let out as I set the table for dinner."It's only natural to fidget but viewing it, Lucia, I know you still love him. Why deny it? I'm a total stranger, little ideas of what you have gone through but the truth can't hide." Jade said patiently in her monotone voice it helped calmed the restlessness, I was agitated and restless today, but no amount of coddling with my pillow could sooth instead I wallow in the kitchen making different delicacies thinking it would help, my store and the way I held the spoons show I was an exhaust fume."Yea, you're right, but he hits me, I don't want my emotions to be toyed with." "So what do you plan, now that your mate is here?" Romanov inquired as he held the bowl in his hands sitting on the sofa and staring through it as he fetched from the bowl, his voice cold."I don't know, maybe I would—" Hooked in my throat I became speechless."You can't deny yourself." It was obvious that I was in denial. Everyone around me was aware of the decisions that I would make, but I accepted my denial and chose to live by it, even if it cost me the one thing I felt deep inside, my mate's affection."He shouldn't be able to come near me, he rejected me not once but twice,""But that was because of the schism between us,""That is it, I was on the brink of death and just when the truth unravelled he let me die not minding what we had shared." The memories of that time made me high on adrenaline."I told you, Andrea is a coward, denial is something he had en route, and I expect no such from you, you're different." But not a snake and not bring straight forward like him."Yes I

"You can't be doing this, Fiona." Lola's voice cuts in but is hit by a stick with a nod from Fiona to the Beta soldier. Alpha Andrea came down staring at her. "You can't leave me for Lucia, she took everything I have ever worked hard for, understand me please..." She shook her head pleadingly and then exploded into bursts of laughter. "You felt that? Pathetic." She said, I pinned her hand to let me go and clutched onto Alpha Andreas' hands. "Please find her, find Moon, I can stand the pressure," I said as she continued with her pulling, she threw me to the floor once again. She rushed towards him and hugged him from behind. He pulled her away and walked himself out. "You can't find her, Andrea, even with your Alpha strength, my Lycans would love to have a taste of your breed, no more are they within these walls." She shouted after him, her voice filled with satisfaction, and Alpha Andrea's face twitched. His fist balling by his side, his eyes shimmering. He moved his steps towards

My head was buried in his shoulder as I cried my pitiful self out. No return or sound from Alpha Andrea, he was in the same dilemma as me. The fact that I have done the same thing again, keeping the truth from him. Hidden the very seed of his from him. It wasn't my fault either, he chose this, the fact that he rejected me and made me look useless as a mate, despite what we shared over his insecurities, the truth he conceived."Aren't I being selfish, that moment with Alpha Andrea inside there and I saw the revelation that no matter how hard I try, the nemesis would crawl its way in." My voice became thick with phlegm as I pushed to the limit of letting the word out."You're right but it's never too late, you protected her from the outside world and that meant you did what is right you protected your child, Alpha Andrea's child." He rubbed my back and assured me."No! I deprived him of the right of becoming a father to his daughter and that was greedy of me.""You ain't think he could

"So Lucia, how is the preparation, I can't wait to attend your nuptials," Fiona said as she dungs her fork into the pastries and rolled some. Her face was shimmering with satisfaction and some feeling of insecurities, she sat like that for a while and said nothing afterwards, her gaze flickered observant of her environment. I can feel my wolf anxiety flooding my head, maybe I shouldn't have let out that I was getting married soon, and to one other than Matt. Not replying to her Matt simply observed the environment and raised the ketchup apples more onto the French fries and Alpha Andrea was observing the atmosphere between us. Matt made it seem real, our little decoy to let them think we were not there otherwise."Oh, I guess you had put a lot of effort into making this." Taking a bite of the chicken, which tasted great, I complimented."Oh is that so? Thanks for the compliment, although it should be directed to Grace, she is such an amazing cook." A grin formed on her face. "And she

The drive through the road got quite eerie, whiffs of creatures were coming through our paths unlike the last time we had left, it was cold and " What is with this strange scent?" I questioned Matt poaching my nose in the air, my eyes teaching around circularly and my hands clenched tight onto the seat.Matt drove as fast as he could to get us out of the eeriness, had the place turned into a slaughterhouse or was it just filled with a bizarre scent."I think the Lycans are still around or maybe there was a fight between rogues." He suggested even thou his theory was not tenable enough. I cleaned my temple, with my hand checking if my eyes were still swollen as I stressed my head into the phone screen."Don't worry, it's not too obvious that you had crude the soul out of yourself.""You sure about that?" I placed it on my lap as I pulled my cascading hair into a doughnut and tired it out neatly."That's not good, so they kill themselves and make sure Lola is safe within the walls of t

Stepping inside I watched him from afar, he was having her dressed up and Lola's eyes were dark red on my path tearing me with her gaze that was a mix of what she felt towards me; pathetic."You're being stubborn again Lucia." She said as I tiptoed, and later cleared my throat, Matt looked at me and didn't say anything but inside he had a hope that I had learnt to accept my true self and do what is right, even when I doubt myself, maybe I should give it a shot."Crying won't bring your friend back, but staying strong and doing all you can to protect what you love would make him proud of you in the land of the spirits." Lola stood up and walked towards the stacked book on the field, somehow the part of the house reminded me of the alchemist's thousands of books, on average he could finish three to four."I know but it's the least I could do, he deserves more than just my tears." "Oh is that so? Your voice is determined,""Yes, my voice is determined because I want to know what killed

I paced myself through the staircase leaving Matt in the room, he wanted to stop me but I was way ahead of him outside. He sighed and returned to the room knowing that Moon got her eyes on him and was hungry he just left me to my emotional damage and tended to her needs, by serving her the food."Lola, it's not true is it?" I questioned standing before her, my eyes widened and reddened from the tears that had pooled out of them the instant Matt handed over the necklace that belonged to Collins, the sharp lights from outside reflecting in the room made me cover my eyes, boggy and swollen, they had a piercing effect sharp like a claw on it that hurt my eyes. Lola peered into my eyes leaving her knitting and letting the fact that we had just had ourselves hurt moments ago slide, she whisked her away from the grand seat, large it was, it looked like a double sitter, but wasn't completely one, maybe it's because it's an old model I couldn't figure the design, tailor-made like, not possibl

I wish I can wake up to a whole new world and I don't have to worry about rogues and some feverish Lunas alike."People are gonna think you're crazy, Lucia." Matt let out as the car came to a stop in front of a mansion, "They would still follow, this isn't a secret place, Matt." I reminded him that the small castle ain't gonna save us. And amidst all in isolation with an Omega that would be in my dreams."Calm down, breath in breath out." He made a motion with his breath and I mimicked him calming my pulsating impulses. "Good, I'm sure you would be safe here Lucia."Just as he was giving me an assurance, the gate creaked open with a long wailing sound, it felt like the old mansion had been put to exile, old rugged and intended to, the water was pulling out neatly and I was petrified, first Alpha Andrea Mansion in the middle of nowhere and now this place, the aura I felt were far from the ordinary. Might be enchanted. How strange…"Are you sure about this place?" I questioned looking

"You're nothing special, why did you have to show up now after all these years?" Fiona questioned, wearing a face that was dung into hate.I sighed in disgust."You shouldn't be asking me that, I thought the crescent pack, as well as the blood moon pack, only have one trajectory, staying hidden among the woods, what brought you to civilization?"She let out an annoying scoff, just when things were about to scuttle up I let out a laugh and embraced her. I might be mad at her but I wouldn't mind avoiding all the chaos possible."What with the sudden hug?" She muttered and I pressed her more.Alpha should know I didn't care more about his kinky affair least to his Luna, I would just be a barking dog without a fang."I am using this medium to apologise for all I have said and wish you a happy married life, old friend." She is already an old friend and nothing more, she stabbed me and lied about herself hiding her true motive, which was my mate. After what felt like hours of silent terror,

"Where are you going?" Alpha Andrea questioned."Probably to get fresh air and tend to some things, the garden got my nose." I let out smirking, he looked down and had his lower part wrapped in between the sheets."Alright, you can go." He said briskly."Who said I couldn't go?" I snapped holding my hand apologetically to my chest."You can't possibly leave me like this," he suggested with a growl.I snickered at him, "maybe next time," I'm sure this won't be the last time he would the same shit.I headed back to my room feeling as though my day had been eventful, I didn't want to be reeking of his scent for long, it would make me want to go over to him and maybe start from where I stopped."Wait did he think I was drunk so that he could make his way, never ready to give up, huh.""Somehow I enjoyed his pressure but you teasing him left him in a lull, not the type of breakfast he sought."
