Chapter 8

I lost my bestfriend

As months gone by I am getting used to it. No calls from Luke. No messages. I've learned to keep any good news by myself. I started to see Evans. Not a typical date I am just being friends with him. I still loved Luke even he completely forget everything about me. I am still here the one and only Leigh who always cheer him up. I missed the Kare-Kare he always make for me. I make myself busy. I went to a fitness gym making myself fit and more stronger. Since I loved music, I started to make band with Evans.

Today is the second month of being alone. I had schedule for today with my trainer for the gym. So I fix myself and went to gym.

I went to the locker area and change my outift. I wear my boxing gloves and went to the area. 

"Hi Leigh! It's good to see you again." 

I am busy to punch the punching bag and didn't notice who is talking behind me. Then I stopped and immediately turn around. It's Cara.

"Well I am surprise to see you here. I am busy. I can't talk right now." I replied to her and turn around as I rolled my eyes. She is so annoying. She smiles as if I was making fun with her.

She pulled my hand and turn me around. She holds my arm so tight. I resisted his grip on my arms. 

"What's wrong with you? Aren't you happy with what happened to me and Luke?" I asked her and walk away. 

I suddenly stopped when she replied 

"That is not enough for what he have done with Nathan. I'll make sure to break his heart."

I turned around and approached to her immediately when Nathan came and tried to stopped us from fighting. 

"Oh here we go. The cheater is with the user. You both go to hell!" I shouted and immediately walk to the locker room and get my things. 

I went outside the gym and went to the Coffee Shop beside the building. I sat down and ordered Black Coffee. My phone ring and saw Evans was calling.

"Where are you?" He asked me.

"I came to the gym but went outside. I saw the devils so I am now here at the Coffee Shop just beside the building drinking black coffee. Can you come here?" I said.

"Sure. I am actually on my way going to you that is why I asked where are you. I'll be there in 10 minutes. Bye." He replied.

Evans stayed with me the time that my world crushed. He always comfort me with musics. He was there when I needed Luke. I am very thankful to him. I feel so safe now. When I asked him to come with me he came as fast as thunder light. 

"I am here." 

He was standing in front of me. He looks so good. I don't know what's with him but I feel I am getting attracted to him. 

"Come here and sit down." I stand and pulled his hand. 

"Thank you! So what's the plan for today? Would you like to come with me?" He asked me while he was smiling.

"Where are we going?" I replied. I wonder where we would go. 

"It's a surprise. This will be fun! Please come with me." He said while his eyes begging for me to say yes.

"Okay no problem. I'll come with you." I replied nicely. 

"So let's go!" He said in excited tone.

He helped me get in  the car. I sat beside him in front. He then turned on the radio and played chill music. While travelling we laugh, sing alog with the music. This is the first time that I feel this way. We've been travelling for 2 hours so I had to ask him where we are heading to.

"Can you at least give me an idea where are we going? I am scared of this." I asked him.

"Don't worry. Your fear will be filled with happiness once we are on the location. Come on! It's just me and you. Give me 20 minutes and we can reach the place okay?" He winked at me and smiled.

"Okay." I replied.

After 20 minutes, he park the car. He asked me to wear the blindfolds. 

"What about blindfolds?" I asked him out of curiousity.

"Just wear it and I'll guide you on the way. Trust me, you will surely love this place." 

I wear blindfold and we start walking slowly. Not faraway, I hear the waves of the sea. It's calm. I smell the sea salt water. It's getting cold. I think we are on the seashore now. He removed my blindfold and I was surprised by what I see.

He set up a dinner table at the side of the shore. There are lots of candles around the place. It is so calming. I came near the tables set up. 

"How was it?" He asked me while he was staring at me. 

"Evans, this is so nice. I love it!" Replied to him while keep looking around the places.

He guide me and we sat down the chair. There is this delicious food that was served on the table. A bottle of white wine and chilled grapes. 

"Leigh, I am flattered that you came with me to this place. I set up everything." He said to me.

He kneel down in front of me and grab my hand. He looks serious and keep staring at me. 

"Leigh, I know that you just came from heartbreaks with your bestfriend. I want to fulfill this sadness with happiness. If you would allow me I'll promise to make you feel happy each and everyday." He spoke to me.

I was a bit shocked. I liked him but not like what i felt for Luke. Luke still hold my heart. What if I give him a chance? I have to make up my life. Luke no longer want me in his life. I started to cry.

"Evans, I am so thankful that you came to my life. You've been there for me the time that my world was down. You cheer me up. You have done so much for me and I know that can't pay this in return. I want you to be part of my life." I replied to him while crying.

He stand up and hold me so tight. 

"Thank you for giving me this chance. I'll promise to make your life happy." He said.

"No I should be the one to say thank you because of this chance." I replied. 

We spent the whole night lying on the beach sands. Watching the starts twinkling. The stars looked happy for me. I appreciate everything in nature. I feel the peace of mind. We drink the wine til we fell asleep. 

I feel the waves of the water on my feet. It's morning but it still dark. The ocean is in high tide. I wake up Evans and asked him to take a walk with me on the seashores and gets some seashells. 

He stood up and fix himself and we start to walk when the sun rises.
