Chapter 2

The day I never thought to happen

The clock is ringing

I straightened up and strained to open my eyes. The sunshine is so beautiful. The sunlight hits my face. Too lazy to move. It's like I don't want to go to school. I was meditating when I heard my cellphone ring. Someone's calling. Luke. I woke up suddenly. I wondered if I would answer his call. I can't stand him.

“Yes Luke! What’s up?”

“What time is it and are you still lying down? Let's go and let's go in. I'm here downstairs. I brought your favourite comfort food. I'm sorry I forgot that we talked yesterday about eating after we do assignments. To make up for it, I woke up early and cooked for you. Hope you like it. So let's go.” He sounds happy.

My eyes widened and I was surprised at what he said. I suddenly got up and hurried to act. I didn't expect him to cook for me. I'm so happy. My blood seemed to flow fast in my body. I love going to school. While taking a bath, I felt the very cold water coming from the shower. I took soap and soaped my whole body while dancing. After taking a bath I hurriedly took the clothes to the cabinet. I wonder what I will wear. I must be beautiful in Luke's eyes, So, I decided to wear a Turtle Neck Dress. I put red lipstick and a bit of blush on. I also took a pair of sandals and looked in the mirror. Smile and turn around. I slowly exited the room.

I was walking down the stairs and stopped when I saw Luke staring so hard at me. Why is it? It was as if he had seen a ghost. Maybe I'm beautiful in his eyes? I couldn’t help but shudder. Those stares are deliberately melting. I continued down the stairs and approached him. I stared at him and laughed.

"What happened to you? It's like you saw a ghost!"

He laughed and touched my head.

"What are you? It's amazing and you're wearing a dress. This is the first time I saw you dressed up. You're so beautiful. I'll admit that I'm amazed at how beautiful you are. It's amazing. It's your thing." He talked to me in amazed.

There are butterflies in my stomach that want to disappear. I do not know what to say. My pleasure is overflowing. He was the first guy to say I was beautiful except for daddy.

"Is that so? Thank you and you liked it. Maybe you're just used to me always wearing a black shirt and pants so you were surprised to see me dressed." I said.

He invited me to go out and walk to school.

"Come on. We still need to take care of something. Do you remember that we have a plan?" He said that joyfully.

I suddenly lost my mood. Of course. I remember. We have a plan for today. Why did I dress up? Today is not for me. I went out of the gate first and continued walking as he chased me.

“Oh yes, by the way! Don't worry this day will be special.” I just said that as if surprised.

“Thank you, Leigh” He replied.

He hugged me tightly. I can hear his heartbeat. My ear was pressed to his chest. Every beat is beautiful to listen to. It would be nice if his heartbeat said my name but it wasn't. I let go of his hug and we both walked to school.

When we arrived at the school, we talked about meeting at the back of the campus on a small stage and then we would make our plan. I went straight to Cara's department. From a distance, I could see that she was talking to a man. A tall, brown, and handsome body. He was Nathan, the campus crush. Asian look and he resembles the bodyguard of the famous Kylie Jenner. They are very close to each other. I approached them and they immediately moved away from each other. I noticed that but I just ignored it.

“Hi Cara! It’s me Leigh. Remember?” Questioned Cara.

“Oh yes! It’s you. How can I help you?” She said while smiling at me. 

“I just came here to ask if you can come with me later?” I said while praying for her to say no to me. 

“But why?” She wondered question me.

“It’s a surprise. If I tell you it’s no longer a surprise” I answered her rudely.

“Oh okay” She replied seemingly surprised by my tone.

“I'll be back to pick you up at 5pm.” 

“Okay then, see you”
