The Awkward Silence

“It’s not going to be like that forever.” I replied.

It hurt to hear the sadness in her voice when she said that she felt alone. There’s a difference between being alone and feeling alone. To say which one is the worst, would be an easy answer; it would be the feeling alone part. Many people in my circle deal with it. People may think that rich people have it all, and that we’re always living ‘the good life’, but they’re wrong. We may live financially well, but as far as feelings go, most of us aren’t okay. Even in a crowd full of people, some of us still feel alone.

My mother said that in order to be truly happy, we need to have love in our lives. Just the thought of the word made me want to vomit, whenever she would say that. I’d scoff and wave my hand dismissively, because
